It is not a state issue it is a test of the soul which we have failed miserably. The Supremes failed miserably when they refused to define humans as humans and left that issue to be determined by reprobate minds.

Even Antonin Scalia publicly disagreed with this position.

The simple basis for his stance was that the 14th Amendment clearly defines people as those "born or naturalized thereof."

She’s a disaster.
Monica Crowley said this morning that she’s done nothing to improve GOP chances for winning elections. Paraphrasing Crowley : the Dems have a well-oiled machine when it comes to getting the vote out and getting their message out, the Republicans haven’t done anything to improve their chances.
And she blamed Ronna McDaniel for her failure

Trump’s enthusiastic endorsement of Graham was making Linda a member of his SC campaign leadership team. Trump and Linda are BFF.

"That being said, I won’t vote for a man who: Turned over the country, the economy, physical and mental health to Fauci.

Cannot articulate a vision for the future without misreading a teleprompter, whining about being picked on, or lying about his opponents.

Put us trillions more in debt, which started even before covid.

Will work with anyone who kisses his ring, including people like Pelosi.

Enjoys wandering through women’s dressing rooms and thinks it’s ok for men to use women’s private facilities. He is almost 80. He will not suddenly become an inspirational leader citizens will follow. He has never won a majority, and most likely never will. The leaders in conservative media and politics only support him because he’s their meal ticket."

Absolute spot-on dismantling of Joe Biden. Good job!

That’s ultimately Trump’s downfall, having to play ball with the GOPe compromised him.

If I had the power to destroy the Republican Party, I'd place McDaniel and McConnell in positions of power.

Democrats in Virginia on Tuesday night retained their majority in the state Senate — a blow to Republicans who were hoping to achieve total control of the state legislature and boost Gov. Glenn Youngkin in his final two years in office.

The Republicans don't do "total control" even when they are the majority.

I hope the defeat wasn't because Republicans stayed home to give Youngkin a disappointment and keep him out of the presidential race. I doubt it, but people are crazy that way.

Trump endorsed Daniel Cameron one week ago, at the end of October.

Meanwhile, polls consistently showed Andy BeShear with a lead in most polls leading up to the election, going back months:

The only poll that showed a huge change over time was Emerson College's; at the beginning of October, Beshear had a 16 point advantage in that poll. At the beginning of November, when Emerson College conducted another poll (right after Trump's endorsement), it had swung to 1 point advantage...for Cameron.

It's easy to interpret the loss as Trump's fault, but at least one piece of polling data does not support that conclusion.

The fact of the matter is, in the long history of Kentucky governors, the vast majority stopped being governors because of (1) term limits; (2) resignation; (3) declining to run for re-election; or (4) dying in office.

The only three governors in Kentucky's history to have lost re-election are:

Democrat James D. Black in 1919 (who had only succeeded a vacancy in the governor's seat, and was not elected into the seat; he only served for five months before losing that year's election)

Republican Ernie Fletcher in 2007 (in a time where there was not only anti-Republican sentiment in the late Bush years, but you had local circumstances of the merit system corruption investigation overshadowing Fletcher's re-election)

Republican Matt Bevin in 2019 (where of the three gubernatorial elections held that year, the Democrats retained Louisiana, and the Republicans retained Mississippi; Kentucky had a humongous turnout compared to the prior 2015 election, with total votes in 2019 exceeding 2015 votes by over 460,000(!); and, more importantly, it was a situation where Matt Bevin's 2018 pension reform bill — heavily criticized by teachers in KY to the point where they actually went on a pseudo-strike — was defeated in the Kentucky Supreme Court by a lawsuit filed by then-Attorney General Andy BeShear, the Democrat who would ultimately defeat him again, except next time it was in the gubernatorial election).

In general, as far as Kentucky gubernatorial elections are concerned: the incumbent always wins.

And, media sentiment notwithstanding (because they're going to be anti-Trump as a matter of course), the data that's available (limited as it is) does not support Trump harming Daniel Cameron's chances.

Did you read what you wrote?

It’s interesting to see you Trump dumplin’s tying yourself in knots to defend Trump while admitting he is malleable and without any real conviction. It’s no wonder Fauci and the HHS swamp played him so effectively.

DID THEY CHEAT?

They cheated on a MASSIVE scale in 2020. There's no reason to think they wouldn't do it again.

They cheated in PA and Kentucky.

as opposed to trying to legislate morality.

He wasn’t the only Founding Father to hold this view. Indeed, James Madison wrote that our Constitution requires “sufficient virtue among men for self-government,” otherwise, “nothing less than the chains of despotism can restrain them from destroying and devouring one another.”

Republicans have had since 2020 to fix fraud and have done zip.

Not true. Many states have tightened voting rules.

Trump has simply brought the GOP right back to where it was before he came along.

Not even remotely true. When Obama was president, Republicans were winning all over the place. Ever since Trump has led the party all we do is lose.

It’s mind-boggling that we lose races in this current environment. Yet here we are, despairing once again over another dismal election.

... while admitting he is malleable and without any real conviction.

You can go back over the last 7-8 years and read everything I've posted on FR about Donald Trump, and I'll bet there isn't a single time when I ever even hinted that he might be a man of conviction.

He's not.

I have news for you: Nobody who is successful in politics is.

It's the downside of being in a field where your success depends on your ability to appeal to the people who choose Barabbas at every opportunity.

Apologies for missing your comment, which indeed made the point perfectly. I wore out at about 100!

The VEC website still shows only 90% reporting, due to the usual slow-walking of the absentee and provisional ballots. That normally benefits the Dems, but I’m eager to see the final numbers. There might be some surprises yet.

So Trump’s endorsements are meaningless at best. Duly noted.
