Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley hit competitor Ron DeSantis in a new ad on Tuesday ahead of the third GOP primary debate, labeling the Florida governor a liar and attacking him for his record on fracking and offshore drilling.
The ad, which is titled “These boots are made for lying,” included a clip from a previous debate, during which Haley claimed DeSantis was against fracking and drilling, and DeSantis shook his head, saying “it’s not true.”
The ad’s title also serves to remind viewers of rumors that DeSantis wears lifts in his boots, which Haley has previously jabbed him over. The Florida governor has denied doing so.

Unfortunately, both have no chance to be anything but distant Number 2 because neither can ever win without Trump voters.

DeSantis has made so many missteps since he started his campaign, its embarrassing. He is disconnected with a lot of the national republican base. He does not show leadership on some of the key issues. He could have denounced the corrupt lawfare against Trump, without endorsing Trump himself. He could have pointed out that this type of corrupt/criminal lawfare goes beyond Trump and is against Republican voters and against future Republican candidates. However, he showed no leadership on this very hot issue. In addition, he hooked up with all the wrong establishment republican including Jeb Bush and the Murdochs. That is a huge warning sign for any conservative who follows what is going on.
Nikki represents the messaging, campaigning, and policies of the old establishment republicans. Its like if the establishment republicans wanted the base to forget everything that has happened in the last few years, and have a mindset from before Trump, Nikki would represent that. If Bob Dole or George Bush were in the primaries now, that would be Nikki. The problem for them is that a lot of the base has moved beyond that BS. They will not stand for it.
I don’t care if DeSantis wears tap shoes and Haley wears combat boots - he’s a proven conservative, and Haley isn’t.

Trump has to get passed the teaming up that they’ll be doing in Iowa and NH. If they cant stop him there it’s pretty much ge over.
