Lawsuits across the US over voter ID laws crawling on as the 2024 presidential election approaches

Lawsuits regarding state laws on voter ID, a popular election integrity measure among U.S. citizens, are dragging on as the 2024 presidential election is just a year away.

At least five states have recently or are currently facing lawsuits regarding voter ID requirements. Voter ID laws are largely popular among U.S. citizens, according to recent polls, but voting rights groups argue that such measures are discriminatory. In Ohio, for example, challengers against voter ID laws have said in court papers that the laws make it "significantly harder for lawful voters—particularly young, elderly, and Black Ohioans, as well as military servicemembers and other Ohioans living abroad" to exercise their right to vote.

A July poll by the Honest Elections Project found that 88% of registered voters support photo ID requirements for voting.

Lawsuits brought against voter ID legislation argue that the election integrity measure makes voting more difficult and discriminates against minority voters. The Elias Law Group filed a lawsuit this year against Ohio state and county officials regarding the state’s new voter ID law that argued that the legislation “will severely restrict Ohioans’ access to the polls.”

If there is a lawsuit against voter ID being filed in any state, you can be assured that Marc Elias is involved. Elias should be disbarred and jailed for election interference and fraud. I'm positive he is somehow involved in just about every instance of drop-box ballot fraud as well.

It’s your duty as an American to prove who you are when you vote. I always show my ID.

I do as well. Even though the poll-workers have known me my entire life they still ask for my ID before I’m handed a ballot. I also have to sign in on a keypad which records that signature so that if necessary it can be verified with the signature on my voter registration card.

Question, why do we need a taxpayer ID? Doesn’t this disadvantage workers, the poor, blacks, illegals…….

I need to show an ID to buy my allergy medicine. I need an ID to *deposit* money into my bank account. But in my state you don’t need an ID to *register* to vote or at the polling place itself. And in my state I get a mail in ballot without even asking for one.

88% of voters favor it but the Democrats oppose it. The Democrats are out to destroy “our democracy”!

The foregoing statement is another example of the continuing obscenities practiced by the Democratic Party in courtrooms around the country. Lawyers, enjoying their monopoly on LAW and practicing law, allow all this nonsense to continue because of the outrageous legal fees that half ass half wit lawyers make off of ridiculous litigation.

So, these people are saying that blacks are incapable of acquiring a valid ID?

Nice.

Racist much?

Voting and buying a gun should have the exact same ID and age requirements.

Whatever is allowed for one must be allowed for the other.

Quite right. See also what he and Stacy Abrams did to GA election statutes.

Consistent with the left's agenda, Elías would have you believe there is a particular class of voters that have no obligation to show they are lawful.

Along with defunding the police it is another great example of an attack on law and order in an effort to create chaos - at least for those paying attention.

In WA State, we have all mail in voting, except when we don’t because our mail system is so inefficient that it takes up to thirteen days to mail a letter from one town to another in the same county. So, we are directed to use drop boxes rather than the USPS.

So a couple of years ago, I was standing behind a woman, waiting to drop off our ballots ( my husband’s and my own), when the lady in front of me opened the drop box with a key and proceeded to load a whole box full of ballots into the drop box. The box was the type that you get from the printer, with envelopes neatly stacked inside. When she saw the look on my face, she turned to me and said, “oh, it’s ok, I’m from the school district offices.”

Indiana has had it for years and there have been no issues at all.
