Israel Hands Out Guns, While the American Left Organizes Gun Turn-in Events

A recent post on X, formerly known as Twitter, shows Israeli officials handing out what appear to be M-4 or similar versions of the American M-16 type rifle to non-uniformed Israelis. Israel suffered thousands of casualties in the October 7 raid/invasion and massacres conducted by Hamas. The raid showed how vulnerable a disarmed population is against lightly armed and armored adversaries. The Israeli government had long practiced a staple of socialist regimes: disarm the population to enforce a doctrine of a monopoly of force by the government.

Disarming the population renders them vulnerable to the types of raids conducted by Hamas or to mass murder in gun-free zones, such as seen in the United States, France, Russia, and all over the globe.

If there are locally armed populations, they can reduce casualties tremendously through armed defense. Their capability is multiplied if they are backed up by quick response forces, either military or police.

At the time of the successful Hamas raid into Israel, less than 2% of the Israeli population had access to small arms. It has been reported that 148,000 Israelis had permits to carry. The population of Israel has been reported at 9.7 million. 148,000 Israelis are 1.5% of the Israeli population.In one account posted on X, an Israeli special forces officer, who was allowed to have a Glock 19 and some spare magazines in his home, killed 10-14 Hamas attackers. Many, many of the other members of his kibbutz were killed or taken hostage. At about 10:18 minutes into the video, his wife says:

My husband is a big hero.  He’s a big hero and we’re lucky. It’s hard for me to say it. Because Many of the homes, many of the families, they didn’t have

Israelis move to reduce restrictions on the ownership of guns. American leftists teach "guns are bad", "turn them in to the police."

Rudyard Kipling had an answer to in his poem, Gods of the Copywrite Headings:

When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace. They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease. But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe, And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "Stick to the Devil you know."

We need to relax over this. There are many worse ways to spend tax dollars than gift cards for guns. Consider what this routinely accomplishes:

*People who do not want guns show up to "sell" them. This makes guns that would not ordinarily be available open for sale to buyers who walk the lines of people waiting to turn in something valuable.

*Gun owners can get rid of marginal guns for replacement. Years ago a buy back occurred at a local NY mall. They offered a $150 gift card useable any store in the mall. I unloaded a nearly worthless bird shottie (3 rounds max, paid $100) and bought a 12ga Mossberg pump at Dick's (before they went woke).

*It allows gun hand wringers to think they are actually doing something to reduce "gun violence". We all know it is silly. Nearly all gun laws seek to "reduce drunk driving accidents by banning sober drivers". This offers a distraction.

*At the very least, it removes guns from the hands of those who lack the correct frame of mind, training and will to possess and use guns, and every so often, maybe once at every 10th or 11th gun buy back, a criminal turns one in.

So take heart everyone! As long as we manage to stop the idiocy of legislation that only infringes on the 2A rights of the law abiding, the churning of the left does more good than harm in this case. And that doesn't happen often!

Armed citizenry is anathema to the communist concept of a kibbutz.

This perfectly logical if you look at it from the perspective of Democrats. Democrats desire absolute power by the government over the citizens/serfs. Individual citizens are of no importance to the government. However, armed citizens have the potential to become a threat to a tyrannical government and by definition the type of government that the Democrats are trying to force on us is a tyranny that would be the envy of North Korea.

So it’s no surprise that Democrats look at how individuals with the right to keep and bear arms as a threat to their plans, what is a surprise is that so many ignorant stupid people continue to vote for them. When I see a Tesla driving down the road with a Biden Harris sticker on it I marvel at how a person rich enough to to buy a virtue signaling status symbol is simultaneously stupid enough to not only vote Democrat but to proudly proclaim his stupidity.

The communist concept

Need a disarmed populace to be-able in-force their will on them.

Other wise the population would soon over throw their communist masters.

Armed citizenry is anathema to the communist concept of a kibbutz.

Highly likely. However, the 3% of Israelis who live in that system are unlikely to make a big difference. If they want to be sheep instead of sheep-dogs ... let them.
(3% figure is based on October 2023 data)

Any working firearm is better then no firearm.

Even a simple working single shot is better then none.

Buy backs are far more a phycological move then a effective physical move.

Planting/promoting the idea that guns are bad.

For that reason alone they should be opposed.

Isn't the M-4 and the AR-15 essentially the same except the M-4 has burst and full auto?
Military versus Civilian versions.

Burst and full auto are significant differences.

Semi-auto AR15 rifles are good militia weapons.

Fair point, but I think the 1 or 2 libtards who troll here have probably earned it.
After all, they risk having their heads explode like the final Scanners scene.

The same Congress trampling our 2A rights, is hell bent on supplying weapons to foreign countries.

MARCH 16, 2022
Briefing Room

Fact Sheet of MARCH 16, 2022-——U.S. Security Assistance for Ukraine

President Biden today, MARCH 16, 2022, announced an additional $800 million in security assistance to Ukraine, bringing the total U.S. security assistance committed to Ukraine to $1 billion in just the past week, and a total of $2 billion since the start of the Biden Administration.

The assistance will take the form of direct transfers of equipment from the Department of Defense to the Ukrainian military to help them defend their country against Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified invasion.

The MARCH 16, 2022 new $800 million assistance package includes:

800 Stinger anti-aircraft systems;
2,000 Javelin, 1,000 light anti-armor weapons,
6,000 AT-4 anti-armor systems;
100 Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems;
100 grenade launchers, 5,000 rifles, 1,000 pistols, 400 machine guns, and 400 shotguns;
Over 20 million rounds of small arms ammunition and grenade launcher and mortar rounds;
25,000 sets of body armor; and
25,000 helmets.

In addition to the MARCH 16, 2022 weapons listed above, previous US assistance committed to Ukraine includes:

Over 600 Stinger anti-aircraft systems;
Approximately 2,600 Javelin anti-armor systems;
Five Mi-17 helicopters;
Three patrol boats;
Four counter-artillery and counter-unmanned aerial system tracking radars;
Four counter-mortar radar systems;
200 grenade launchers and ammunition;
200 shotguns and 200 machine guns;
Nearly 40 million rounds of small arms ammunition
Over 1 million grenade, mortar, and artillery rounds;
70 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs) and other vehicles;
Secure communications, electronic warfare detection systems,
Body armor, helmets, and other tactical gear;
Military medical equipment to support treatment and combat evacuation;
Explosive ordnance disposal and de-mining equipment; and
Satellite imagery and analysis capability.

In addition to the U.S.-produced short-range air defense systems the Ukrainians have been using to great effect, the United States has also identified and is helping the Ukrainians acquire additional, longer-range systems on which Ukraine’s forces are already trained, as well as additional munitions for those systems.

The United States continues to expedite the authorization and facilitation of additional assistance to Ukraine from our Allies. At least 30 countries have provided security assistance to Ukraine since the Russian invasion began.

In 2022, the Department of State authorized third-party transfers of defensive equipment from more than 14 countries, a number that continues to grow as Allies and Partners increase support to Ukraine.

This security assistance package is another visible signal of the United States’ continued commitment to supporting the Ukrainian people in the face of Russian aggression.
