Ukraine hits Russian warship after 15-missile salvo on Crimea shipyard

Ukraine fired 15 cruise missiles at a Russian shipyard in occupied Crimea, hitting a warship in an attack that could further undermine Moscow’s offensive capabilities.

French-supplied SCALP missiles struck the Russian vessel stationed at the Zalyv dockyard in the port city of Kerch on Saturday, Lt Gen Mykola Oleshchuk, the commander of Ukraine’s air force said.

The warship was armed with Kalibr cruise missiles that have frequently been used by Russia to strike targets inside Ukraine, he added.

“I confirm,” Gen Oleshchuk said on Sunday morning after posting a message the evening before which said the Ukrainian attack had probably hit its target.

Ukrainian media named the Russian warship as the Askold, a small Karakurt-class warship that is armed with eight Kalibr missiles. The Askold was reportedly going through its final fittings at the harbour before being commissioned into the Black Sea Fleet.

What IS confirmed is that Ukraine expended about $20 million worth of cruise missiles (15 of them) to take out this little Corvette

And how many billions of dollars worth of Russian S-400 missile defenses did they knock out last week?

Ukraine likely destroyed 3 of Russia's prized S-400 missile systems worth $1.5 billion, weakening its air defenses, says UK intel

the Ukie cheerleaders can’t see what this means for our US Navy in constricted waters like the eastern Mediterranean...

Looks like we could be in trouble if we install shipyards in Ukraine and declare war on them.

What a stupid waste. FIFTEEN high-tech, 2,900-lb, 340-mile range, $2.5 million missiles, and this is all they have to show for it?? Did they even bother aiming them?

Did Zelenskyyyy have Otis write the coordinates for Crimea on his arm?

What do you expect from keyboard warrior who are cheering on the waist deep fields of blood. Tactics, lessons, … not interested they just want the blood.

How many children are on the return flights from the weapon deliveries. The DS needs new kiddies in their little play areas and the 25% kickbacks on all aid.

I would gladly spend any amount of money to "take out" a weapon pointed at my heart.

Ukraine expended $37.5 million to take out a Corvette that cost $34 million to build. Hilarious.

I'm sure that the mothers of all those Russian sailors killed by the missile salvo are laughing their heads off!

We can end the war if Russia withdraw troops from the Occupied territories of Ukraine in return for international recognition of Crimea gives up and goes home.

One brave Russian general with a steady trigger finger is all that it would take!

I’m a Brit and I wholeheartedly approve of MY money being spent on trashing Russia’s war machine.

The cheap ass penny pinching gippo moron squad with the “Ukraine is winning so let’s stop funding them” would’ve been a bundle of joy in world war 2. The minute the Nazis started retreating into they’d have all sodded off home saying “Mission Accomplished!”.

America made decades of profit and benefited from decades of soft power because America understood that there was nothing in it for America to let Nazis and the Soviets take over Europe... And everything to gain from propping up the resistance to both.

The people who want Ukraine to lose to Russia are literally arguing to weaken the USA and put it at serious risk of a two pronged attack from Russia and China just to save a buck ‘o five.

Peace through strength means spending money and building alliances. Not nickel and diming and breaking your own promises.

Those who argue their country can’t afford to do it ain’t patriots. They’re morons. Useful idiots. Soviet sympathisers. Traitors.

And I’m talking in the British context there. We signed up to defend Europe from the Nazis and the Soviets, knowing we could’ve negotiated terms with Hitler and Stalin and stayed out of it.

But we took the hit. For decades we paid the USA back with interest. Perhaps the penny pinchers think that supporting the UK was a wasted investment too.

Did the USA ever get a dime back from Russia for all its support in WW2? No. The Russian state is a parasite.

I firmly believe that in time Ukraine will pay back what it’s borrowed. If it succeeds. You’ll never get your money back from Russia.

“Ukie cheerleaders can’t see what this means for our US Navy in constricted waters like the eastern Mediterranean.”

…Even NATO’s old deactivated crappy cruise missiles can take out Russia’s newest ships?

“Correction.

Those missiles are $2.5mil each.

Ukraine expended $37.5 million to take out a Corvette that cost $34 million to build.”

Russia can always revise its claimed number of shot down cruise missiles, to make the math work, so that the loss of their ship is yet another great victory.

This is all done and those 15 missiles expended to get their hands on more US taxpayer money. Little things that are made to look like they are winning when they are not.
