On Nov. 7, Ohio voters will go to the polls to vote on Issue 1, an amendment to the state’s constitution that would enshrine the right to abortion until about 24 weeks of pregnancy, when a baby is viable outside its mother’s womb. Currently, women in the Buckeye State can get an abortion until 21 weeks of pregnancy.
The amendment’s wording—“Every individual has a right to make and carry out one’s own reproductive decisions”—has also raised concerns about sex-change surgeries for minors. Critics of the amendment say the ambiguous language may create a constitutional right for children to undergo procedures that would permanently sterilize them—even without their parents’ permission.
A recent poll by Baldwin University found that 58% of voters in Ohio plan to vote “yes” to the amendment, 34% plan to vote “no” and 8% are undecided.
The amendment is widely supported by pro-choice groups, including the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio, the Freedom From Religion Foundation, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, and the Human Rights Campaign.
Ohio’s governor, Mike DeWine, has voiced his opposition to the amendment. “Whether someone is pro-life or pro-choice,” he said “I just think for most Ohioans, that goes much, much too far.”
MURDERING BABIES IS PURE EVIL !!
AMEN
“Pray this does not pass!!!”
If it does, then it is the opinion of the people in Ohio. And they have the privilege of determining what they want to do. Other states may go another direction with different or better qualified bills and won’t be able to fall back on a misread, misapplied rule at the federal level like Roe. Nothing happens overnight.

If it does it proves what I always knew, Ohio is a lousy state. I have traveling there, the cops have speed traps everywhere.
The fate of Issue 1 hinges on two crucial factors: voter turnout in Ohio’s major cities, namely Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland, and the engagement of women aged 18 to 48 at the ballot box. Should these variables remain characterized by persistently low participation, the prospect of Issue 1 securing passage remains elusive.
They can just journey to NevaDUH for that. Been on the books since the 90’s. Up to 24 weeks. Later if the doc says so.
“If it does it proves what I always knew, Ohio is a lousy state.”
And for your wishes it may be. Your next door neighbor may think different. I don’t support the bill because I don’t live in Ohio. But I applaud the fact that something to take control of the issue putting it into the hands of the voters because that is what democracy is all about voted one way or the other. Before it fell on to the reps and senators at the federal level to over rule local desires on this topic along with many more. Back to basics which means more to the people than mass decision.

As aricle sates.....“Every individual has a right to make and carry out one’s own reproductive decisions”
No they don’ have the right to kill babies in the womb ! But they do have the right to prevent sex ...
Prayers up all along.
If this passes the deed won’t require women to travel north to my decrepit state of Michigan to kill the preborn. Since last year it’s in the Michigan Constitution as fully protected.
