Massachusetts by the way. Two teeth knocked out. That is at least 2-3 thousand dollars for replacements. That are not even implants. Can you even do dental implants on such youngsters? Their jaw bones are still growing.
Absolutely no protection. Lesson learned.
We all have to make sacrifices for equality. So pay in lost opportunity, some pay in teeth.
You wanna play with the boys like you’re a boy? Then welcome to the consequences.
It was a male who identified as a female playing on the girls team
.. that knocked out the teeth of the female
If it was my daughter, I’d sue the school district for every penny I could get out of them.
This incident was not Trans related but goes back to some rule in the 70s about coed teams.
Just because it’s legal, doesn’t make it right.
I have read people somewhat defending that MAN who did this by saying it could have happened with a female player.
Ummmm.... certainly not with the same strength behind the puck.
MEN are using this loophole to abuse and terrorize women and the dems are LOVING it.
Breaking down women and children to make them compliant is a dem’s dream.
No. According to the DM article, it was a normal male who identifies as a male. Apparently, the law requires male students be allowed to play on female teams, and visa versa.
I think this is a long-standing law, demanded by feminists, so girls can play on boys teams.
May lead to something like FH players in MA being forced to wear helmets.
With that being said, I'm surprised they're not wearing helmets and face protection.
The school was following the law. They were compelled to allow the boy to play. I don't think you can successfully sue someone for obeying the law.
The reason I thought it was a trans was I watched the video on my phone. I thought that player they closed in on afterword ( the heavy one wearing the skirt ) was the one that hit the ball :-)
I take it, this was a coed sport. In the name of safety field hockey should not be. Only played it my freshman year in high school, but the ball used is as hard as a cricket ball. The hockey stick when swung can be a lethal weapon.
I believe that's standard procedure. The school wouldn't allow an underage girl to play without parental permission and a waiver of the right to sue.
In Australia a cricket player was killed a few years ago when struck by a pitch. He was wearing a helmet with face guard but somehow the ball went through. Cricket balls and field hockey ball are made of similar material although cricket balls are a bit larger.
I’m not saying they should be required, just that in MA that could be a likely outcome.
