My company just laid off 300 salaried - this was my 7th lay-off survival in 25 years. It’s like being a high-wire performer.
In my 42 oilfield years, half of them were years of one or more layoffs. If it were a contest that business has all of them beat. Somehow I survived to retire. Half of it was because I didn’t lay myself off from my own company. We managed to fight our way through all the downturns somehow. We never turned down honest work and we appreciated all we got.
