It is time for the Republican Party to “come together” and coalesce behind former President Donald Trump, Florida Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) said in a shining endorsement Thursday.
Scott clarified in an op-ed that he respects all the Republicans who chose to run in the Republican primary race, assessing that “every single one of them would be a better president than Joe Biden.” He briefly laid out the sad state of affairs under Biden’s leadership — an open border, drugs pouring into the country, the destruction of women’s sports, a general lack of law and order, the appeasement of world dictators, and Israel under attack.

Smart move!
I assume Scott is hoping to get reelected, and it’s not hard to see whose endorsement will help him more in that regard.
Considering desantis is endorsed and supported by swampy GOPe rino uniparty people....
And had an endorsement from megan mccain with a call for all the other candidates to drop out and support desantis...
I’d say desantis has greatest association to the rino uniparty.
Scott may be somewhat of a rino, but he turned out good as governor for Florida and okay as senator.
He’s on the smart list.
In before the “but where are you gonna go once Trump is in prison” crowd.
Jeb clone not going anywhere...pack it in, Ronnie!
He’s probably holding his nose but doing the right thing. Endorsing DeSantis plays into the hands of the MSM. They’d emphasize the conflict within.
Trump’s been there. Successful POTUS. Turn away because one doesn’t like him? I’ve been around plenty of bosses I didn’t like. Some tended to be more than ok.
If Trump loses this country is finished. Who’s gonna fight for us-Haley? Makes me puke. The base is done with the across-the-aisle butt kissers. The other party is better at faking it. Think wordsmiths Clinton/Obama.
I agree. A bit of a rino, but a good governor. And he sees that none of the non-Trumps have been able to get any traction, including DeSantis who is also a good governor. So, yes, it’s time to rally around Trump. The non-Trumps are just a sideshow that need to go away. They serve no useful purpose.
To support anyone beside Trump is to accept the 2020 steal.
Q. Who would make a better 2024 GOP nominee, Trump or DeSantis?
A. It’s a moot point. Trump has the nomination. He cannot be caught.
Sen. Scott is correct. It is time to take a page from the Democrat playbook, and unite.
That's the bigger point. And its not really about Trump. While the RNC sits on their hands or actively works against what their constituency is telling them, you have a slate of 'candidates' that are more of the same. Almost none of them have been talking about what is best for THIS country. Ramaswamy talks a good game, but there is something off.
I had good thoughts about DeSantis, but there has been too much circumstantial things that indicate he may be a Uniparty trojan horse.
But the really heinous part-- those on 'our side' banking on Trump being taken out of the way. There is no difference between them and those who have kept J6rs in prison for three years without a trial, or using a BS 14th amendment argument, or that crypt keeper judge in New York--all scum.
He is on the trumpet train but he will switch as soon as Trump goes to jail and can’t run
If Trump is jailed, it will be a travesty, one of the biggest travesties in the history of this country.
But Trump can still run for president while jailed. The Constitution lists the requirements for the presidency. Jail or felony status is not among them.
Back in 1920 socialist Eugene Debs ran for president while in jail. He got over 900,000 votes.
But here’s the thing. A jailed candidate is obviously severely limited in how he can campaign for office. That just might be the goal of the Democrats.
Go crawl back under your DU rock already.
When Daines announced support for Trump, that was the official signal from the Swamp that they had given up on the Primary.
Now they will work to sabotage Trump in the General Election, and in the White House if he wins. (just like they did the first time !)
We don't anoint candidates, we interview employees who work on our behalf.
That is the purpose of primaries.
Trump is never going to be president ever again, dems will make sure of it.
If that does not strike the beginning of an "uncivil" uprising, then nothing will.
