Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) spoke the plain truth about the nearly 500 Americans in Gaza not being allowed to leave by Hamas: They are being held hostage by the Islamist Palestinian terrorist group. The nearly 500 are in addition to the “less than ten” Americans known to have been taken hostage in the October 7 terror attack by Hamas on Israel. The Biden administration has said Hamas has been making demands for their release that the U.S. is not prepared to meet.
They’re not natural born Americans.
Those aren’t “American” and we don’t want them back. Probably relatives of Rashida Tlaib.

Any American that is still in Gaza after being in Gaza on their own free will is not welcome back to America. Also, there are several million Americans on US soil, including some in our nation’s Capitol, that are welcome to go to Gaza since they love these eff’n terrorist so much.
Sounds lIle they are NGO related people or. related to people in Gaza and likely just as sympathetic to Hamas as 60+% of Gazans.... either way I don’t think we really want them back.

I would guess mostly Americans of Arab ancestry, or non-Arabs married to a Palestinian, or employees of some aid agency, or people kidnapped on October 7. Probably very few ordinary tourists would go to Gaza voluntarily.

I think some American Jews spend some time living in Israel temporarily, say on a kibbutz.

I suspect about 3% of the people living in Israel have US citizenship.
