LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — From targeting Chinese-owned farmland to banning gender-neutral terms like “pregnant people” from state documents, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has rolled out announcements in recent weeks in quick succession, cheered on by her Republican base.
Washington — has also fielded questions from behind a lectern at the state Capitol. But it’s the lectern she’s not using — a $19,000 purchase that’s led to an audit and claims her office illegally altered public records — that remains a problem for the first-term governor.
That lectern hasn’t been seen at Sanders’ public events, and the governor’s office won’t say where it is. But questions about its cost and how its purchase was handled haven’t gone away so easily.

Sheesh the liberals at Wash Post and AP, are grasping at straws.
Of course they are silent about Hunter Biden.
And they are offended she took actions against Chinese owned farmland.
And they are deeply offended that Sarah Sanders bans politically correct language such as “pregnant people”, when we all know that by definition, anyone who is pregnant is a woman. Inconvenient truths offend the leftists at the Washington Post.
This is all you got? With all the other crap going on right now?
Friggin Pravda. We need to quit spreading their word for'em. 🤠
But, remind me, how much money did Washington lose in Covid funds? Are we raking anyone through the coals? We have our focus on the wrong people.
It’s Arkansas money. Let Arkansas deal with it.
To be fair, I haven’t followed this story beyond seeing the headlines, but $19K doesn’t sound like too much for a custom-made lectern.
A small law firm I worked at paid $25K for a custom conference room table with chairs. Outrageous for sure, but custom stuff costs.
The same media who are investigating the $19,000 podium are the ones who didn’t blink an eye when we were told that it would take a million dollars to replace the two or three doors broken on J6.
I remember in the early 80s...SAC base...HQ’S spent like $8k for some high end podium, and no one said a word.
The Post must not know about O’Biden’s $5 million bribe from Ukraine.
Who knows if this story is even true.
But if something is wrong, then it’s wrong. And $19,000 of taxpayer money spent on a lectern is wrong. Sure, folks can site even worse abuses.
No matter. $19,000 of taxpayer money spent on a lectern is wrong.

This would be custom within custom since it's for government work.
The suppliers are all required to have diversity hires and the manufacturer too. The materials have to be approved, "green", and certified to not be from a rain forest. Since it's miked up, the electronics have to be "green" and certified to only be recycled by state-approved recycling companies.
The wood stains have to be California approved and not cause cancer in obscure wildlife. The shop where the wood staining is done needs to be EPA certified and a documented location approved for state work.
Yeah, $19k is cheap for government work.
Walkway corner curb refurbishing costs $100,000 for each corner!
Used to cost a while ago, It is probably a lot more now!
I would say a custom lectern would cost more than little (4-5 ft) standard curb.
Let’s say the wood worker charges $100 an hour. That is 180 hours assuming $1000 in material. Someone had to design it, build it, and someone had to do the carving or CNC programming for the seal. That is not out of the realm of a reasonable cost for a custom made piece of furniture. I am in the manufacturing industry and have made similar items for similar costs.
And the Biden perverts scam millions ... but they are protected
Democrats and Washington Post is worried sick about a $19,000 podium in Arkansas. The $3.3 billon the federal government spent on office furniture during the Covid pandemic, when most federal employees were working at home, apparently is of no concern. See story below:

Unreal.
I wonder if the comPost has worried about the taxpayer costs for ILLEGAL CRIMINALS pouring into this country.
*SPIT!*
And let’s not forget the $25,000 toilet seats at the Pentagon (or wherever it was).

And the Biden perverts scam millions ... but they are protected.
Billions even. But the Wapo goes after Sarah for 19 grand and says “Gotcha. Watergate!”
It’s a replay of the Ben Carson $31,561 dining table and chairs that the office of HUD ordered in 2017. Liberals reusing their playbook.
