Earlier on Thursday, a DeSantis spokesperson said the governor’s office had contracted cargo planes to send drones, body armor and helmets to Israel and worked to “get weapons and ammunition to Israel through private parties.”
In an interview with Reuters, however, Maor Elbaz-Starinsky, the Israeli consul general in Miami, said his office did not work with the governor to send any weapons or ammunition to Israel through private parties, though he had once been in contact with the governor’s office about a plane that was carrying rifle parts.
“I am not aware and would find it very, very bizarre to think that somebody is procuring weapons and sending it to Israel,” Elbaz-Starinsky said. “This is not how we work. And certainly not privately funded."
“There are laws and regulations which govern how the export process is handled....I couldn’t speak with authority today about whether the governor has checked all those boxes or not,” White House national security spokesperson John Kirby said on Thursday.

P.R. and attention seeking desanctimonious is not below doing anything to to try to help his campaign and election chances....
And if he did send stuff, it may be he flaunted export rules and regulations to do so...
He is acting like “president” of Florida. Using taxpayer monies to push a campaign narrative.
Chartering flights out for Americans, i’m okay with. Even with it being campaign material, and campaign optics. I think most people would agree with me. Sending arms? That’s fedzillas job. What governor has done such a thing recently? Is that even legal?
I don’t believe for a minute this is legal. Where did the weapons come from?
DeSantis, who is running for the Republican nomination to take on Democratic President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential race, has tried to portray himself as the staunchest Israel ally in the primary field.
(President Trump was Israel’s most supportive president ever. However Ron DeSanctimonious has lied) and sharply criticized former President Donald Trump, who is by far the frontrunner, (and tried to portray him as anti-Israel.)
DeSantis will be attending the Republican Jewish Coalition’s (RJC) weekend donor gathering in Las Vegas, where he will be vying for donor money to bankroll (and save his dying) campaign.
The export of weapons and ammunition cannot be for the citizens of Israel, they are not allowed to have any.
DeSantis pandering to that Jewish Republican group hoping for more donations just made another fool of himself. Somebody needs to break it to Ron that his campaign is already over. Who wants to waste money on this guy? Trump is so far ahead the only thing DeSantis can hope for is the deep state keeps Trump off the ballot. So it makes DeSantis look like he’s in cahoots with the deep state. Not a good look.
Bill Clinton promised to “Keep a kosher kitchen in the White House.”
Since DeStupid is going all out in degrading pandering, he should follow suit !
I have relatives in Florida. They are becoming increasingly annoyed by DeSantis’s foray into foreign policy. Floridians are extremely concerned about the rising cost of homeowners insurance which DeSantis is doing nothing about while he kisses up to Jewish donors to support his failing presidential campaign. As governor of a state his priorities should be on state matters.
lol...
I must have triggered the usual suspects, and they spammed the keywords, like what has been happening to you..

My impression from this and other articles is that DeSantis was't sending war materials, which would be illegal without the correct permits rather expediting the shipment of already completed shipments which were having space availability problems due to the reduction of flights to Israel. Alternately, he might have sent ammunition without documentation or the Biden administration might have sped up the process, both unlikelly. Virtuallly all articles refer to the shipments as donated. Good as it doesn't involve tax dollars, but unlikely manufacturers were donating arms or ammunition.

Certainly happening in DeSantis case.
I was wondering about the legality of that, thanks.
