Charlottesville’s Robert E. Lee statue has met its end, in a 2,250-degree furnace.

The divisive Confederate monument, the focus of the deadly “Unite the Right” rally in 2017, was secretly melted down and will become a new piece of public art.

Over a punka@@ kid who posted his “i’m a man/boy” photos with a small Army of N. VA battle flag (just as the Klan abused that flag in the 1920s,this little shiite went to a black church, got to know the pastor and members and said he wanted to pray (a devious little bastard) and then murdered them. This person was in NO way related or descended from any Southerners. And Haley is an Indian first and American last.

“Some will see it differently-—” Yes ignoring the concepts of the Founders who wrote the Constitution, who designed a country of States, each with their own laws, mercantilism and loyalty to the central govt. to the extent of their own populace’s consent of any enforced federal govt being accepted in their State. That’s how it was then, and how it is not now, because of the actions stemming from this war and Reconstruction at the end of Federal guns. Lee was a champion of manumission, hated slavery in fact as a highly costly responsibility that was a burden. And indeed he received a Federal pardon from President Johnson- which was hidden in the Library of Congress for a 100 years. He was a willing participant in US government, and purposely denied voting. That’s who the “winners” were and are. 700k people died to overturn the clause in our Constitution. It did not have to happen, as any Mason should be able to describe.

“Lee couldn’t stand up for his own convictions and took the Rino route to go along to get along.

You are hideously full of crap, venom, and ignorance.

You have no idea at all what the hell you are talking about.

According to HISTORIANS, which you are not one, state citizenship trumped national citizenship in 1860. That is why those constitutional amendments were passed.

Statues of 19th century democrats put up by 20th century democrats, being torn down by 21st century democrats. It would be a farce except for the precedent it sets for the revision of history.

"Maybe Lee was more of a prophet--a patriot who recognized a Federal power grab and the consequences that would follow."

To my knowledge, Lee never denounced his father for marching federal troops into western PA to put down the Whiskey Rebellion. Nor, to my knowledge, did he show any disagreement with the pre-war fugitive slave laws that essentially allowed the fedgov to trample the rights of free states with southern (human) property laws.

Maybe if you hold your breath and turn blue it’ll help.

Woodrow Wilson, fellow Democrat to Lee, father of progressivism and Globalism idolized Lee.

I have no emotional involvement in Robert E. Lee.

I like the song Waiting for the Robert E. Lee.

I think they should have kept the statue up and even more so not destroyed it.

That is Taliban, Chicom like totalitarianism.

Yes, that Dylan Roof boy is a disgrace to his race. He accomplished nothing by his evil deed. Some old
colored folks reading a bible in their church were not a threat to anyone. I can't wait until the punk is fried.

‘Lee is a hero for surrendering honorably, instead of fighting a gaurilla war, and also getting others to do.’

highly unlikely that there was much stomach left in the essentially defunct Confederacy for guerilla tactics to carry on for long...

‘(Also he messed up bigly at Gettysburg, and Longstreet was right.’

debatable as to whether Longstreet was right; if he were proposing withdrawal, that would be right, it was the only thing that would make sense, seeing as how the full power of the Army of the Potomac by the third day was at hand...if he were proposing a move to the south, to try and flank the Union line at Little Round Top, he would have run smack into Sedgwick’s Sixth Corps, by far the largest Corps on either side...

‘Yankees have always been, and still are, puritanical scum whose main desire is to impose their will on others.’

kind of like the way the southern elite desired to impose their will on illiterate stone age savages...

Technology would’ve killed the institution within 10-15 years.

We’re he with us now, I’ve no doubt that General Lee would meet this news graciously, with kind wishes that the statue melters would learn from history rather than obliterate it. But the statue melters are not the kind of people that would understand General Lee’s ability to rise above petty revenge.

Charlottesville hs become Lilliput, where very small people destroy giants. Both the Lee and Jackson statues were noble works of art with their own place in history. Now Lee Park is a homeless camp. The town is full of wealthy lefties who let the legacies of slavery run/ruin the town. These people use history to transmute emotion into power. Once they have melted it down, where will they be?

‘Technology would’ve killed the institution within 10-15 years.’

really? then why were the southern states so focused on expanding slavery to the western territories? or so keen on trying to pass the Ostand manifesto, bringing Cuba into the Union as a slave state...or killing the Wilmot Proviso, which would have banned slavery in the territories acquired after the Mexican war...? or making sure that the Utah and New Mexico territories were not admitted as free states in the Compromise of 1850...?

and what technology, exactly, would the South have implemented that would result in the elimination of the institution they expended so much blood and money to keep in place...?
