Shadowy out-of-state groups are pouring money into the campaign to enshrine a radical new abortion law in Ohio’s constitution, but will voters fall for it?
In the wake of Roe v. Wade’s defeat in the Supreme Court last year, leftist groups are clamoring to dramatically expand abortion up to the day of birth in red states. In Ohio, that means pushing Issue 1—which would establish a right to abort babies long past the point of “fetal viability,” the limit established under Roe.
In practice, that means creating a “right” to abort third trimester babies far beyond anything provided by Roe, when mothers are 37–42 weeks pregnant.
Ohioans have a clear mandate to vote “no” on Issue 1 . Ohio Republican Gov. Mike DeWine and Secretary of State Frank LaRose both oppose Issue 1.
If Ohio—a red state that voted to reelect President Trump by 8 points in 2020—seems an unlikely target, the Left’s ocean of “dark money” says otherwise. From the Swamp with Cash
Restoration News has identified $9 million in contributions to the pro-Issue 1 campaign by leftist “dark money” groups and mega-donors, all of which are based outside of Ohio.
The Sixteen Thirty Fund, which has dumped $1.3 million into the race, is the biggest lobbying arm of the world’s largest “dark money” network, run by Arabella Advisors. The Arabella network spends billions of dollars each election cycle—in 2020, twice as much as the RNC and DNC combined—electing Democrats and attacking Republicans.
It’s the Left’s ultimate secret weapon: A nexus of groups that quietly pour millions of dollars into campaigns to flip red states blue and shift the country leftward.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is the professional Left’s favorite litigation group, responsible for burying conservatives in expensive lawsuits and win in the courts what Democrats can’t win at the polls. We’ve traced $2.3 million from the ACLU and its Ohio arm in the Issue 1 race.
George Soros is in on the action, too, pumping $500,000 into the pro-Issue 1 campaign through his in-house advocacy group, Open Society Police Center.
Ditto Planned Parenthood—the nation’s largest abortion provider—which has funneled $1.8 million into codifying abortion “rights” in Ohio through its various arms.
Much less known is mega-donor Lynn Schusterman, a billionaire and Democrat contributor who’s provided $1 million to the Issue 1 campaign. The Schusterman Family Foundation—built on a fortune made in oil and gas, no less—is a top donor to radical environmentalist and transgender groups.
Schusterman herself has backed at least one Soros DA: San Francisco’s wildly controversial Chesa Boudin, whom “progressives” tried to recall last year for being too soft on crime.
Then there’s Illinois Democrat Gov. J.B. Pritzker, head of the infamous Chicago Pritzker family, whose wealth comes from the Hyatt hotel chain. Pritzker, who contributed $250,000 to the Issue 1 campaign, recently launched his own nationwide pro-abortion group, Think Big America, to fund similar ballot measures in Nevada and Arizona.
What’s missing? Local support for Issue 1. If “progressives” pass the measure in November, it’s because outside “dark money” caught conservatives off-guard. Time for Action
This is just the start of the Left’s war on children and mothers. Ohioans, if you don’t protect your children from the cult of death, who will?
Early voting started Oct. 7 in Ohio for the Nov. 7 election. Get out and vote “no” on Issue 1.
Google ads and Search engone suppression. Ohio will have the same results as Michigan because they are using the same playbook.
People will be peppered with texts and ads to go and vote on this, it will happen every day for them.
Ohio is not a bright red state. It’s a red rust state.
Ohio voted for Trump by 8 points because he opposed and promised to fix terrible trade deals.
But the state is purple and close to blue on social issues. Issue 1 will likely pass and not by a narrow margin either.
I’m not sure why Soros is wasting his money on it.
I suspect issue 2 (recreation MJ) will also pass.
As long as there are women voters in this country, anything is possible with regards to legalizing abortion in the elections. All at the state level, just like conservatives wanted.
The evil bastards worded this prop vaguely enough so this thing could be used to codify the “right” to mutilate children’s genitals. That’s why Soros and PP are pouring money into it. I am still amazed Ohioan’s fell for the rat spin on the prop in August that would made it so you need 60% to amend the state Constitution.
I agree. In Michigan, though, women could barely stop themselves from voting months before the election. Most energy I’ve seen in years. To get it on the ballot the Christian and other opponents said “It’s so hard to get that many valid petition signatures, maybe it won’t end up being on the ballot.”
Then....”The Reproductive Freedom For All ballot committee gathered 753,759 signatures for the constitutional amendment, the most ever gathered for a ballot measure in state history, and more than enough for it to be placed on the 2022 ballot.”
Final vote totals:
Yes 2,482,382 56.66%
No 1,898,906 43.34%
Total votes 4,381,288 100.00%
Notice the vote for it ended in a form of 666.
Satan’s morbid sense of humor in victory.
decrepit despicable evil pr###
Women are more pro life than men.
The democrats complained last election that more women voted Trump than for Biden.
The amount of time and effort they put into that sick agenda blows my mind and convinces me that until those pushing leftist agendas are reduced to cowering in their basements, the innocent, the good, the productive and everything that is beautiful and worthwhile will never be safe from their predations, degeneracies and anti-human, pro-death crusades.
And what religion/ethnic group are the people who are behind the effort? (Hint: It rhymes with News).
Is it not illegal for a recipient of govt money to fund political orgs?
If not, it should be.
They are naive and have come down on the side of evil, sadly.

A politically connected Detroit synagogue president was found stabbed to death Saturday morning outside her home in the city’s Lafayette Park neighborhood, east of downtown.
Murder victim Samantha Woll, 40, led the Isaac Agree Downtown Detroit Synagogue and previously worked for U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin, D-Holly, and on the reelection campaign of Attorney General Dana Nessel, a Democrat.

Editorial.
We know that there is more work to be done. The threat of a federal law banning abortion still looms.
National Council of Jewish Women, Michigan lauds the hard work, the coalition building and the educational outreach in which Michiganders engaged in order to pass Proposal 3, making Michigan the first state in the United States to pass a citizen-initiated constitutional amendment that guarantees the right to abortion and other reproductive health services. Nov.23, 2022 Detroit Jewish News commentary.

But also remember the feminists are very numerous and powerful in Michigan and didn’t need the Jewish vote and support.
That is completely untrue. Where do you come up with such nonsense?

Find me one age breakout where Trump did better than Biden.
They put Issue 2 on to make sure young people get out to vote to insure Issue 1.
With real voters instead of the 81,000,000 who come out every day to support old Joe.
Hahahahahahahahaha!
From an online search... Over 40% of Planned Parenthood revenue comes from government reimbursements and grants.

I agree. Peter paying Paul.
May Gyorgy Schwartz burn in hell!
Funny you should say that, because the whole demonrat party is funded by that evil old nazi collaborator Gyorgy Schwartz, who just so happened to turn his fellow Jews over to Adolf Hitler.
