Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) attacked Republican primary frontrunner Donald Trump in a clip shared from the campaign trail on social media, asserting that the former president has a “sense of entitlement” and accusing him of being unable to “get off that teleprompter.”
“He is wedded to the teleprompter. He can’t get off that teleprompter. Anytime he does, he says things like, ‘Don’t vote.’ He’s telling people not to vote,” DeSantis began, adding that Trump lost the popular vote to twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016, arguing that “you don’t have all the votes you need.”
DeSantis continued:
And so I think that it’s just shown [that] this is a different Donald Trump than 2015 and ’16. [He] lost the zip on his fastball, has a sense of entitlement, all this stuff, doesn’t think he has to go through and earn it like other candidates, and that’s just not going to fly in Iowa [and] New Hampshire.
He did not mention Trump’s consistently tremendous leads in both New Hampshire and Iowa throughout the GOP primary.
Tuesday’s RealClearPolitics (RCP) average of polls, for example, showed Trump up by an average of 33 points in Iowa and 30.8 points in New Hampshire. Notably, DeSantis slipped to third place in the Granite State in RCP’s averages.
“And that’s why, you know, how this came to be with Iowa and New Hampshire…I’m glad that it works this way because I do think you got to earn it,” DeSantis, who is currently blitzing the Hawkeye State by visiting every county, continued.
DeSantis also emphasized the need to have a candidate who can win the general election, contending that there are “too many people that just are not going to vote for Trump at this point” while pointing to the impact of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent bid.

I don’t think de santis is going to get much traction with this.
Turkey vulture walk and talk.. talk about the appearance of entitlement….
RDS didn’t enter the race to win. He wanted to live in Trumps head 24/7. Success.
Thou shall not speak ill of thy fellow Republican..............
When is this stupid primary race going to be over? Ron needs to focus on Florida, Trump on winning the WH back. The rest to go off and do something else. The debates are worthless, just proving I need more Trump.
DeSantis right as usual
Any thoughts he has on 2028 just went poof.
Probably not even though there is a ring of truth in what he’s saying. But I think all these court sessions are wearing and beating him down. It’s been relentless pounding on the man.
Iowa and New Hampshire vote in January, don’t they?
If Trump wins resounding victories in those early states, this will be all but over. I think DeSantis, Haley and the rest, take the position, that nobody has actually voted yet, so they stay in because they think they can make inroads against Trump.
Is it still true you won’t be voting for Trump *and* you will urge as many as possible to do the same?

DeSantis is touted as a great leader...but he chose as his campaign spokeswoman, a registered foreign agent for a top Zelensky ally.......spox Christina Pushaw was also at Zelensky’s victory party in 2019.
What ever future he had is gone.
Could have been a contender.
DeSantis being fed talking points by his GOPe handlers as usual.
Having a fastball that has lost a bit of zip is still better than never having had a fastball at all.
He's been bought and paid for, and frankly, he's a lousy politician. He has zero connection to the American people.
Still won’t work Ron. I won’t vote for a Bush GOPe acolyte no matter how many insults you throw.
DeSantis has no chance at winning the general. At this point it’s Trump or America, and the
GOP, are done. Kaput. Finished.
