Jeffries just said Johnson is “a Baptist man”.

LOL. Is that supposed to be such a horrible thing, Hakeem?

It’s a material upgrade over Boehner’s hand picked successors.

Without a doubt.
Plus he is a Southerner from a Red State.
Up yours Paul Ryan and McCarthy.

GTH trolls.”

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yep.

“Back in 1991, as a high school sophomore, he once helped an old lady across the street. Turns out she was a Democrat!!! So F him!!!”

So he’s a Trump supporter and gets elected and Jordan didn’t???

The House GOP is exhausted and they knew this clown show needed to end. Johnson sounds like an upgrade over McCarthy, but we will see - I have no idea how he grades out compared to Jordan.

He is da Man indeed.
Hopefully McCarthy will retire. Go back to Bakersfield and open a Hot Dog Stand.

I’m just glad they elected someone finally. I hope he gives the democrats fits.

IMO this site is better for ratings from the Right:

Mike Johnson's CPAC Ratings

It provides more data over more years and doesn't have the overly small sample size and somewhat cherry-picked methodology that those Liberty Scores do. Johnson does a lot better with ACU/CPAC than he does with the Liberty Score people.

ALL information is helpful so long as it helps identify the truth -- even ratings from ultra-liberal groups can be helpful when interpreted in reverse of what they intend. :-)

An interested person can compare and decide for himself which is the better measure. Among the single-issue, all-or-nothing types, unfortunately probably LESS information is better because they aren't interested in anything that contradicts their worldview.

I’m listening to the Markley, Van Camp & Robbins show and they played an ABC “news” clip about Mike Johnson and the first thing you hear from ABC is that Johnson is a “fierce opponent of abortion rights” so maybe he’ll be good Speaker.

Matt Gaetz did not accept the status quo. He was willing to rock the boat. He did not settle for a 54% to lead the entire Republican caucus that represents a lot of conservative states.

I don't know how Johnson will do, but I think he is an improvement over what we had with McCarthy and Scalise. Scalise... what a disappointment. I learned a much about him with this speaker selection. He has a liberty score in the 50s. What?!! And there are FR posters who sing his praises.

Matt took a lot of hate for his boldness. Kudos to him for standing up and being bold. Usually our reps just approve whoever has been selected by the RINO establishment. Regardless of how Johnson turns out, I have respect for Matt for doing this.

Listening to Speaker Mike Johnson now. He is at least saying all the right things. Leftscum are sitting on their hands or holding their heads as they explode. :)

If he communicates in complete sentences, it is already an upgrade…

I thought McCarthy spoke well, and often said the right things. The problem is that it seemed like he was always conniving with the Democrats and stabbing the conservatives in the back. Seemed pretty likeable. For a snake.

You call it a "clown show".

I call it something that desperately needed to happen.

It’s always possible that he was holding the Conservative line in the House Armed Services Committee. We can hope and we shall see.

That’s my Congresscritter!

He knows we have his back!...................

That reinforces my impression that he’s a very good man and will do well as Speaker.

He is going to get some serious bruises pretty soon if he alters from the agenda, but I also hope that is the case and he stands strong. :)

Enough is enough.
