The UFC has signed a new partnership with Anheuser-Busch that makes Bud Light once again the official beer of the promotion, officials told ESPN on Tuesday. Sources told ESPN that it's the biggest sponsorship deal in UFC history. Terms were not disclosed.
The multiyear contract, which begins Jan. 1, 2024, comes on the heels of the UFC merging with WWE under parent company Endeavor to form the new publicly traded company TKO last month. UFC and Anheuser-Busch had been partners for many years until 2017, when the UFC signed with Modelo.
"Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light were UFC's original beer sponsors more than fifteen years ago," UFC CEO Dana White said in a statement. "I'm proud to announce we are back in business together. There are many reasons why I chose to go with Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light, most importantly because I feel we are very aligned when it comes to our core values and what the UFC brand stands for. I'm looking forward to all of the incredible things we will do in the years ahead."
Bud Light will have "prominent branding" in the Octagon, including on Dana White's Contender Series. There will also be integration across broadcasts and social media.
I posted earlier today how White allowed one of his fighters to make pro-Hamas statements after winning his contest at Saturday night's UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi. And it wasn't mere coincidence that the event was held in Abu Dhabi because some of White's fighters are forbidden by the US State Department to compete in the US because of their ties to a Muhammadan Chechen politician who is providing aid to Vladimir Putin's war against the Ukraine. So changing the venue to an Arab country sidestepped the State Department ban.
White's next challenge will be convincing the UFC's beer-buying audience that the gang at Bud Light are really are a bunch of swell folks (and transsexuals are okay people, too).
Nah, he got a great deal somewhere in there.
Even including the May dividend, AB stock is nearly down 19% since the beginning of April 2023. The stock had leveled off to around 15% down during the summer months, but it has since dropped again in the past five weeks. I wonder how much of this deal will turn around sales and the stock’s bottom line.
Instead of fighting, there will be ballroom dancing.
LOL!
I am sure Bud paid the UFC a lot of money.
aNd I be they are still donating to BLM
They already featured a tranny beating the shit out of a girl.
That would of been enough for me.
I quit watching when Mark Coleman quit fighting.
I used to bounce with him in the 90’s.
Real Prick.
Gay cage matches?
complete with hair pulling?
The first rule of Fight Club is we don’t drink Bud Light.
