Official says without power, the ventilation systems in Hamas' tunnels won't work and leaders will be forced to leave tunnels or suffocate.
Hamas fears that in the coming days, the Gaza Strip will run out of fuel and there will be no electricity, which will cause the ventilation systems in the tunnels dug under the enclave to shut down, a security official told Walla today (Tuesday).
When the electricity runs out, the Hamas terrorists will be forced out of the tunnels into the open air, he claimed.
"According to a calculation made by the security establishment, and an analysis of the humanitarian situation in terms of supplies in general and the amount of fuel in particular in the Gaza Strip, in a short time we will see Hamas come under great pressure," said the source.
He also said that "the leaders, commanders, and activists - what interests the Hamas leadership is the fuel, not food and water. Why? Because most of its leadership and fighters are in tunnels deep underground. They need power to circulate air, operate the communication systems, and activate the rocket launchers."
"They do everything by remote control. Without electricity and without fuel for the generators, they cannot hide in the tunnels. Every day that passes increases their distress. That is why Hamas is under great pressure when they run out of fuel, we will see them come out.
Earlier today, the UNRWA refugee organization said that if fuel does not enter the Gaza Strip by tomorrow, the organization would be forced to stop its activities in Gaza.
IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari responded to the allegations and said: "Hamas has 500,000 liters of fuel, go ask them."

I am sure there are enough people in Gaza who know about these things called “generators”.
Yes - but they also have solar panels on buildings as well. They need to take those out as well
It is a pain to keep generators running 24/7. Lots of maintenance involved.
It was reported that Hamas demanded fuel in exchange for some hostages.
yes, now we know
Isn’t it possible that they stockpiled fuel and generators along with the food and water?
MAD Mo’ had no ‘lectricty but was still able to kill Jews with abandon.
The current set of animals are not up to standards.
Just a guess - they might have thought of that eventuality and planned for it.
Why don’t they blow up the fuel to move things along?
Drop tons of dry ice. Give it away. Fill the tunnels with it and claim the Israelites are sinking carbon.
The use of petroleum to power things is Cultural Appropriation and Harram.
“It is a pain to keep generators running 24/7. Lots of maintenance involved”
Plus lots of noise from the motors and nowhere to vent the exhaust fumes in a tunnel without being detected.
Hamas is unsustainable?
It’s probably deep in the tunnels - they may be able to detect ventilation shafts at night - they keep finding targets
That's the right way to respond!!
Holy Crap - that fuel depot should have been target #1 ten days ago.
Yep. But they may be using that as a psych...and will take that out, soon.
I like the plan … now we know …

Follow the example of the Marines on Iwo. When they begin to emerge have the flamethrowers filled with fuel and ready to fire. Film at 8.
Hamas is unsustainable?

My hope is that there won’t be any of them left to worry over once the IDF finishes their work.
