The Saturday Night Massacre at 50

This weekend marked the 50th anniversary of the “Saturday Night Massacre,” a heroic but doomed attempt by President Richard M. Nixon to halt the runaway tyranny of the deep state, the judiciary, and the corporate media before it could usurp fully the government of the people of the United States of America. The episode, like the Watergate scandal as a whole, has been entirely distorted in American memory, with Nixon miscast in the very role of his opponents: a man gone mad with power, an aspiring despot with no regard for the Constitution. It was, in most tellings, the moment that doomed the Nixon presidency—after sixteen months of Americans not caring that five men had been caught snooping at the DNC headquarters, and just eleven months since the American people sent Nixon back to the White House in the most resounding electoral victory in the country’s history.

Strategic error, certainly.

First Attorney General Eliot Richardson refused Nixon’s order to fire Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox, and Richardson resigned.

Then Deputy Attorney General William Ruckleshaus also refused the order and resigned.

Nixon then ordered the third-ranking DOJ official, the Solicitor General, to fire Cox, and he carried out the order. His name was Robert Bork.

Cox was replaced with Leon Jaworski.

They had me suckered. I was in high school at the time, and in those days I believed what the MSM told me. Why would they lie? Who couldn't trust Uncle Walter, Dan Rather, and the rest of the lot? They wouldn't lie...

It wasn't until years later that I figured that they are all liars, trying to bury America and promote Marxism...

Yup, I swallowed the 'Saturday Night Massacre' canard. No talk radio, no internet, just the newspapers and TV news shows... I.e., just one-sided propaganda.

“Silent Coup”

Richard Nixon was the first president I voted for. I have never had regrets about supporting him.

The nation who re-elected him did not want his removal.

DC and the 3rd rail and the Deep State, demanded his removal. The GOP hated him, because he got in the way to their agenda.

So, Here we are again.

It is Time to #Restore_the_Constitution!

It is Time to #DownSize_DC!

#Freedom_Works! DC does NOT. DC is destroying the USA by complexity.

A lot took place before your list of events.

This must all be taken in perspective.

I wish I would have saved it, I saw an amazing video a few years or so ago.

‘It exonerated Nixon and said he was working hard to stop the radical left.
‘I can’t remember many details beyond that.

He was the first political figure I followed and thought about as a child, even then the exuberance they went after him seemed out of proportion for the claimed crimes he committed.

Nixon’s mistake was trying to appease democrats. He gave us some of the worst government agencies since the IRS.

5 of the 6 Watergate Burglars were on the CIA payroll. Deepthroat Mark Felt was an FBI director whose day job was leaking information to the Press to embarrass politicians the FBI did not like. And, the ‘journalist’ Woodward was not really a journalist. He had spent a decade working in the Intelligence community.

It was all a frame up.

Dancin’ to the rhythm
In our heart and soul
On Saturday night, Saturday night
I-I-I-I
Just can’t wait

Up until now. The DeepState campaign being waged against President Donald J Trump is orders of magnitude larger and it continues to this day.

Nixon was the embodiment of deep state: 1. Implementing Price controls

2. Taking the United States off of the gold standard

3. Supporting affirmative action through quotas

4. Normalizing relations with communist China

5 enemies lists etc

Nixon’s mistake was trying to appease democrats.“

This is true. Nixon was given the rep of a rigid tough guy. He was not. All the way back to 1960 he knew they stole the election from him. He revered the county and the Presidency so much that he feared fighting it would diminish both. The GOP’s refusal to face they are in a war goes back at least 60 years.

By the mid 1970s, the Left had gained control of the media, the entertainment industry, and acadamia.

Through that triad, their efforts to paint Nixon as a monster were wildly successful. They even had Republicans urging Nixon to step down (and that ended up being the final straw).

They have only been solidifying their control since.
