The use of web tracking panel data provides new insights into Germans' online pornography use. According to new research published in Archives of Sexual Behavior, German Catholics, Protestants, and the religiously unaffiliated are as likely to use online pornography as each other. By comparison, members of minority religions in Germany, such as Muslims or Orthodox Christians, are less likely to use online pornography.
"Prior studies have shown that religiosity can be a strong predictor of pornography usage," said Dr. Pascal Siegers of GESIS—Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences. "We wanted to re-investigate these questions using web tracking data that is less likely to be affected by social desirability."
Von Andrian-Werburg, Siegers, and Breuer combined data from a large-scale German online web tracking panel with survey data collected from the panelists. Their results generally replicate previous findings from survey-based research from Germany and other countries.
However, the study has also generated some novel insights, such as the identified difference in the role of religion in online pornography use between members of the religious majorities and unaffiliated in Germany and members of minority religions.

People first get “curious” about what’s online......
but that curiosity triggers an addiction to online porn.
Well, we know who created the pornography industry and have used the 1st Amendment in federal court to protect it, which has resulted in broken marriages, hookup culture, interracial sex, swinger culture, and pedophilia.
porn has been around since humans first picked up a rock and scratched something on a wall or shaped someone into a human shape.
Those are big problems, but porn wasn’t the cause of them.
These are mainstream Germans like leftist American unitarianss
Reality. They don’t “push the single beds together only when they want to make a child” either.
Who in the Wide World of Sports would volunteer for such tracking?
There was pornography in Ancient Greece. The Founders knew about this filth. If they wanted the new Federal Govt to ban it, they’d have qualified the First Amendment.
That’s not to say porn is acceptable. It’s an outright affront to God and the Ten Commandments. Just like sex outside of marriage and divorce…oh wait, it’s not fashionable to rail against those mortal sins. But the pornos, they bad.
Porn is a matter to be handled by society, and the Church. Fathers need to step up and show their sons that women aren’t chattel or vessels. Mothers need to show their daughters that they are way more than a chew toy.
The problem is, society in general accepts, tolerates, and often consumes porn.
And maybe it’s not porn, but there is outright borderline ghastly behavior that is condoned by men of good character. I mean, rarely does a week go by on FR without someone typing “I’d hit it” or “Not Guilty!” Indeed, they’re also keywords.

Strengthen the family, shun divorce and unwed parenthood, and some of this will go away.
Study finds that becoming a Christian doesn’t mean the person becomes an automatic Saint free fro. Sin... news at 11
By mainstream do y’all mean loyal followers of the Pedo Pope? If so, why any surprise?
As to addiction, BS! Only total losers blame their weaknesses on others.
“Mainstream Christians” - particularly in German - are rarely believers. Huge difference. That said, online porn is probably a secret sin for many Christians because...Christians are not perfect!
We all have sins we struggle against: anger, pride, gluttony, greed - and sexual sin. Porn is a type of sexual sin that is easy to conceal, so yeah, a lot of genuine Christians probably struggle there too.
Another gem from FR’s resident Nazi 🐀. Imagine thinking that Clarence Thomas’ marriage is the biggest danger to the Republic. What a 🤡 you are. Follow your fuehrer.
Yes those who are serious about their faith are far more likely to practice it.
No wonder they’re into so much black leather outfits.
All well mostly all people are sexual.
Well said.
That’s right.
Our fallen nature is.
You are correct.
Indeed. Being a Christian does not exempt one from their fallen sinful nature, but you can resist giving in to temptation through the help of the Holy Spirit.
Yep. And don’t forget “Would Laz hit it?” The fine print on that tracking study revealed that participants were able to turn the tracking off and on whenever they chose. The authors (naturally) hinted that conservative Christians turned the tracker off when it was porn viewing time.
