Gaetz says those voting against Jordan are trying to punish 8 conservatives who voted to remove McCarthy
lorida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz told reporters on Friday that he and other conservatives who voted to remove former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy have offered to face removal from the House Republican conference.
"If what people need is to see the 8 of us wrapped on the knuckles in order to get on to the business of governing" than we are open to consequences, Gaetz said, which includes removal from the conference.
Gaetz said he and the other conservatives would stay Republicans.
Gaetz and Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., argued that the Republican holdouts voting against Jordan are doing so to punish the group of conservatives that voted to ouster McCarthy.

Gaetz exposed a lot of people. We should be grateful to him. Some of these were people we thought were good members (witness John James of MI, who had 2 Senate races stolen from him — now we know what would’ve happened had he been in the Senate, becoming a disciple of McConnell’s treasonous RINO turds to sandbag the Conservative agenda).
He has a long way to drop before he reaches the approval rating of your other Leader, Mitch McConnell
And a way to punish republican voters who are conservative. “You will do it our way, and you have no other option.” 22 RINOs threatening to go with democrats if they don’t get their way. They want the republican party to be a rubber stamp for the democrat agenda.

It looks to me like this is the last stand for the RINOS. If they lose this round against Jordon and Gaetz the old ‘good old boy’ GOP clique is done for.
Funny, I think he secured it. Free people like a fighter who fights for the people. Gaetz has proven he is such a person.

Yes and yes. Still, Gaetz should have had a better game plan. This whole thing is making Republicans look incompetent and leading to infighting amongst Republican politicians and the rank and file.

No,it wasn’t. They gave McCarthy the chance, knowing he’d lie, which he did, and they’d have to vacate. Gaetz et al knew he wasn’t going to last, but I guess the others just needed to see the spots on the leopard really don’t change.

It took McCarthy 15 votes to get him placed in the driver’s seat. And because he drove like a drunk Harvard frat member, Gaetz took advantage of a HOUSE RULE and had him tossed.
Gaetz and 7 others are carrying the water FOR THE BASE!
While rinos are betraying the base.
Anyone calling for Gaetz to be blamed isn’t speaking for the base.
If they were speaking for the base then the blame would be placed on those who have betrayed the base for years!

Any idea why they are unwilling to go along with the rest of the Republicans and instead are creating this mess?
We must be eternally vigilant in ridding ourselves of leftists, in both parties. The alternative is to keep allowing RINOs to rule the GOP and the nation continuing to sink into the abyss.
