ST. LOUIS (AP) — Thousands of information technology workers contracting with U.S. companies have for years secretly sent millions of dollars of their wages to North Korea for use in its ballistic missile program, FBI and Department of Justice officials said.
The Justice Department said Wednesday that IT workers dispatched and contracted by North Korea to work remotely with companies in St. Louis and elsewhere in the U.S. have been using false identities to get the jobs. The money they earned was funneled to the North Korean weapons program, FBI leaders said at a news conference in St. Louis.
Court documents allege that North Korea’s government dispatched thousands of skilled IT workers to live primarily in China and Russia with the goal of deceiving businesses from the U.S. and elsewhere into hiring them as freelance remote employees. The workers used various techniques to make it look like they were working in the U.S., including paying Americans to use their home Wi-Fi connections, said Jay Greenberg, special agent in charge of the St. Louis FBI office.

How is North Korea not able to feed itself, but has thousands of highly skilled IT workers?
North Korean H1B? Laundered by who? India?
Paying Americans to use their home wifi? We are so infested.
Imagine an actual American IT worker with a job.
They say we aren’t smart enough so they need to import workers from India and China.
Now they’re NORKs posing as Americans.
Just how many Americans—real Americans—are left in IT?
More whack-a-mole.
(...and more ‘distraction’...)
To compound matters, the entire diversity movement has a negative impact among American students due to the fact that some identity groups are given preferential treatment in admissions. It’s gone as far that Asian Americans are discriminated against in STEM degrees.
We no longer live in a meritocracy. That compounds itself. Management in American business is filled with incompetent affirmative action hires. It’s highly prevalent in tech, where by nature the best IT workers usually don’t make good managers. Thus, women and minorities are thrown in management positions to keep quotas high. They really don’t know jack chit about what they manage.
At my company, they are ONLY hiring off-shore Indians. No American citizens need apply.
DITTO. I lived it for 20+ years and know what you wrote is spot-on.
Just one of the bad things, and maybe the worst, easily achieved by “remote” workers. What do you want to bet China is also doing this.
I am so glad to be retired.
Isn’t Boeing in St. Louis?
Didn’t you know, we have an H1B here on FR previously stating that we are inferior to the red-dots, and that we should allow MORE of them in.
I say we ship him back with the rest of them.
Oh, he ignores the fact the American ITs have to be called in to clean up the mess of bugged code the H1Bs turn out.. (They suck at it).
Meanwhile millions of American IT workers’ (and everyone else’s) wages are funding Iran’s and Hamas’s weapons programs through the IRS and Slow Joe’s generosity with our money.
Surprised the FBI had time for this between Jan 6 persecutions, catholic mass and PTA moms.
Emerson is in St Louis, but that might just be the field office managing the investigation.
The DC office is busy with J6 trespassers.

The reason for this is the affirmative action (racist) programs in all companies. On the false premise of racism affecting STEM positions, HR depts scam companies into virtue signaling by saying that they hire XX% “minorities”.
But, it is all a scam. Local companies do not get the jobs, only conglomerates tied to outfits like the CCP do. Such jobs are outsourced to other countries — which are of course not mainstream white Americans.
Plus, there is the cut for anyone participating in this.
Anybody arrested or did they vote dem?
