After a lengthy and often combative GOP conference earlier today, Jim Jordan’s office has announced there will be a 3rd vote for House Speaker Friday at 10:00am.
“The House will vote Friday at 10 a.m. on a third speaker ballot, according to Jordan’s spokesman.” {link}
The UniParty Republicans had earlier floated an interim proposal to grant temporary House Speaker Patrick McHenry with additional authorities which would gain Democratic vote support. The concept was to get the House through a round of funding for Israel and Ukraine aid and avoiding a shutdown, until January. However, that effort fell short as the non UniParty Republicans would not agree to the plan.
Jordan spoke briefly about that issue following the conference meeting. WATCH (46 secs):

Damn those who vote against him...Republican and democrat. They are destroying this nation.
I was gettng ready to post something similar to what you posted. I agree 100%.
The comments on that website are spot-on.
The uber qualified Jordan couldnt be elected speaker but to hear some he’s suddenly morphed into a strong, decisive “leader” ........ all b/c of one issue.
Moderate Michael McCaul (R-Texas) said it was important to him that Jordan (R-Ohio) is “committed” to linking Israel and Ukraine in giving away billions of foreign aid tax dollars.
We’ve fallen very low as a country if the only thing that makes Jordan electable is whatever he says (and doe$) about a foreign country.
Jim Jordan gave a most excellent speech focused on the American spirit and success this morning. Hands down, he spoke like a champion.
I think JJ is a squish, but at least he’s not evil like some of the others are. JJ used to be much tougher, and it would be great if we could get that guy back. I don’t know what happened to make him move a little left. Maybe as he got older he just got tired.
He can just keep failing votes over and over, because every time he does those RINOs phones light up with angry people
That’s honestly why I don’t GAF who the Speaker is.
The Republicans need to get this done. Whatever it takes. Get it done today! Everyone has made their point in how they are hurt by Matt Gaetz. Just elect a Republican Speaker and stick it to the rats!
Gotcha.
All Gaetz did was rip the cover off to expose what lay underneath. Good for him! Someone needed to do it and looks as if he had the courage to say, “ Alright, you want a villain. I will be your villain.”. The man deserves praise not rancor!
As Dr. Franklin insightfully posted: Republicans have been getting cheated and screwed by illegal mail in ballots but having honest and clean elections is less important than foreign military aid giveaways.
Why is that?
Excellent question, but we ARE living in cockamamie “Bidenland”......so anything goes these days.
“Everyone has made their point in how they are hurt by Matt Gaetz”
Don’t shoot the messenger.
I see Netanyahu is getting nervous about the foreign aid taxpayer billions and is sending out his factotums to rile the waters.
A top Israeli policy expert, Caroline Glick, came out swinging, whining that Biden went to Israel
<><>to “blackmail” Israel into “resupplying” Hamas in Gaza,
<><>threatening to withholding military supplies needed by Israel.
The facts are these:
<><>Biden told Netanyahu he would offer support and he expected Israel to prioritize protection of civilians and humanitarian concerns.
<><>Biden “formally announced” the “already-arranged deal” to allow humanitarian assistance to move into Gaza from Egypt, and $100 million in new aid for those in need among Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.......which was hammered out “WITH Israel in Washington” BEFORE Biden left.
<><>Biden also told Netanyahu that he would go to the Congress with a military support package for Israel of “unprecedented size.” (source yahoo.com)

Backstory: Since 1973, Israel has received more than $120 billion US tax
dollars in military assistance, including “three special aid” packages.
<><>billions for signing the Israel-Egypt peace treaty
<><>billions for Israel’s withdrawal from the Sinai.
<><>billions for redeployment of Israeli forces
<><>rebuilding Israeli air bases in the Negev cost $5 billion.

The concerned Israeli lobby made sure Congress is required by law to ensure that U.S. military aid in the Middle East region doesn’t damage Israel’s military superiority over its neighbors. That requirement enjoys broad bipartisan support and has served as a benchmark for ensuring Israel receives robust U.S. support.
The stomping of feet about getting things done betrays conservatism, which has a central focus on keeping government out of the lives of the people.
Getting things done is not conservative.
I liked his speech but it dawned on me after hearing what he said. Who was the speaker of the house when two brothers went 100ft? I suspect it didn’t matter to them. The government is waaaaay too involved with everyday life and the media perpetuates the idea that they need to be. You know why the average person can’t build a rocket to goto thr moon 100 years later? I suspect it’s because it’s illegal to even try.
