If Christina Pascucci is elected to represent California as a U.S. Senator next year, she may be thanking NFL star Aaron Rodgers for the inspiration in her victory speech.
The 38-year-old career journalist and native Angelino quit Fox 11 on Tuesday, just a day after Good Day L.A. aired her last story: Following in Rodgers' footsteps to document a 5-day "darkness retreat" at Sky Cave Retreats in Oregon, where it appears the seed for her political ambition began to sprout.
"It's a beautiful day," she said on Day 4 of the darkness therapy experience. "And if I can feel that it's a beautiful day in here, I can change my state."
Pascucci, also an expectant mom, made a formal announcement on Wednesday that she will enter the crowded Democratic race for the seat vacated by the late Senator Dianne Feinstein, no doubt plunging one of the most watched Democratic races into more prickly chaos. Her Democratic competitors include veteran Congressional lawmakers Adam Schiff, Katie Porter and Barbara Lee.
Pascucci, who spent more than a decade at KTLA-TV before joining Fox 11 as a weekend co-anchor and reporter, isn't the only first-time candidate, either. Earlier this month, Republican Steve Garvey, the former Los Angeles Dodgers all-star, also announced his candidacy. Meanwhile, Politico reports California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s appointment Laphonza Butler "is nearing an announcement about her own campaign." The former labor leader worked as an aide to Vice President Kamala Harris, and took over Feinstein's Senate seat earlier this month.

The Senator will be whoever the Pelosi-Newsom crime gang picks.
I guess she’s better than the chick on Ktla who was banging the former mayor
“Mushrooms Grow in Darkness”.
That sounds enlightening.
FWIW, Islam began in a cave where Mohammed reportedly encountered a djinn — a demon.
Food for thought, here.
She’s attractive.
Butler running? Not a resident of CA.
