There's More to the DeSantis Airlift Story Than We Realized

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis cut through the red tape to rescue Floridians stranded in Israel. What we didn’t know is that he’s also planning to pick up non-Floridian Americans, as well as those Joe Biden dumped in Greece.

“We knew there’d be people that wanted to get back, many hundreds, maybe even more than 1,000. And they were not getting any luck with the State Department or with the embassy. So I did an executive order last week, activating Florida emergency response to be able to bring planes in there and take people back home.”

“I had mothers that were stranded with three or four kids. I had one family with ten kids that they were trying to get back to Florida.”

He explained that the rescue flights were not limited to Floridians: “If there are people that are struggling to get to Georgia or New York or whatever, we’re all Americans, and we want to help people, but it is limited to Americans.”

[Snip]

So we have more flights coming. The next one will be [Tuesday] morning. We are taking people from Israel, but we’re also going to stop in Athens, Greece, to pick up people that the federal government may have stranded...”

“You can come across the southern border, and the federal government will fly you all across the country, free of charge. They’ll put you up in nice hotels at taxpayer expense. They’re not charging the illegal aliens.”

[Snip]

“We, of course, do have an interest in recovering the hostages that are American citizens… But ultimately, it’s Israel’s war. We should support them, but it’s not something we should get enmeshed in with our own ground troops.”

IS GOVERNMENT “CHARITY” REALLY THEFT?
One day in the United States house of Representatives, a bill was taken up appropriating money for the benefit of a widow of a distinguished naval officer. Several beautiful speeches had been made in its support. The Speaker was just about to put the question when David Crockett arose:

“Mr. Speaker — I have as much respect for the memory of the deceased, and as much sympathy for the sufferings of the living, if suffering for the sufferings of the living, if suffering there be, as any man in this House, but we must not permit our respect for the dead or our sympathy for a part of the living to lead us into an act of injustice to the balance of the living. I will not go into an argument to prove that Congress has no power to appropriate this money as an act of charity. Every member upon this floor knows it. We have the right, as individuals, to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right so to appropriate a dollar of the public money. Some eloquent appeals have been made to us upon the ground that it is a debt due the deceased. Mr. Speaker, the deceased lived long after the close of the war; he was in office to the day of his death, and I have never heard that the government was in arrears to him.

“Every man in the House knows it is not a debt. We cannot, without the grossest corruption, appropriate this money as the payment of a debt. We have not the semblance of authority to appropriate it as a charity. Mr. Speaker, I have said we have the right to give as much money of our own as we please. I am the poorest man on this floor. I cannot vote for this bill, but I will give one week’s pay to the object, and if every member of Congress will do the same, it will amount to more than the bill asks.”

He took his seat. Nobody replied.

Thank you Florida.... nice move big D.

But he is terrible as a Presidential candidate.

Okay Trump has more charisma. Everyone knows that. So we have two Generals. Trump and DeSantis. What if DeSantis is the better General? Why would we not want to go with DeSantis?

It was DeSantis who sent the 50 illegals to Martha's Vineyard... He's been on our side for a long time. Hope Trump chooses DeSantis for VP...

Good job governor. Thanks for being a solution not a red tape dispenser.

There's More to the DeSantis Airlift Story Than We Realized

Turns out there’s actually LESS to this story than we realized.

The original reports about this “airlift” made it sound like DeSantis was sending aircraft to rescue people who were fleeing a war zone, gathering in desperation on the roof of the U.S. embassy as the last helicopters were lifting off.

In reality, none of these people were in any serious danger. They were just regular travelers who were stranded in Israel when their flights were canceled.

Maybe DeSantis will do the same thing next winter when Florida travelers get stuck at an airport in Minneapolis or Chicago during a snowstorm.

If Minneapolis or Chicago are declared war zones with Hezbollah and Hamas bombs raining down, beheadings and hostages taken, DeSantis probably will work to get Floridians home, even if it isn't during a snowstorm.

That was too easy.

Apples and oranges. Ensuring the safe return of Americans overseas in danger in a hostile situation does not in the least bit compare to the act of charity described in that recounting. And, your welcome.

And I’m sure you recounted that story in support of Joe not spending the resources to ensure the safe return of those in danger when he pulled out of Afghanistan, right?

Sounds dangerous. How did they get civilian aircraft over there to transport all those people back to Florida?

DeSantis executed a plan to retrieve stranded Americans from Israel. He cleared the legal path to make it happen and found an organization that was already capable to complete the mission. Project Dynamo was in the process of fund-raising when DeSantis contacted them so that their operation didn’t have to wait. It was the first time a government agency ever used their services, and they appreciated the help.

Biden’s State Department which was slow to react has finally been evacuating people too, but they are dumped in Europe and left to find their way back to the states, while Project Dynamo brings their evacuees back to Florida.

Maybe you should look at facts from another perspective not the media view. Try from a biblical Godly view. Desantis has lied to his state’s people, deceived those who worked to get him elected his last election.

Now it may be he is taking more credit then he should for something that was already being done without his “leadership”. He has a Fl congress doing all the work sohe looks good signing papers. I’ve yet to find articles of things desantis did to help people on his own.

Trump as private citizen for years has helped everyday people, he did that in many ways as president too.

Just because he won again in2020, and is still a threat to honestly win election again, all those financially raping the US people (most of Fed leadership etc) will cheat lie etc to try to crush him while boosting pretenders like desantis, willing to playing along with their ultimate plan to diminish the US because the pretenders seek power, are greedy like those pulling strings.

Desantis didnt use tax payer NOR his own money. He just met people already formulating a plan and desantis attached his name to it. Thats all desantis did. Usual desantis tactic. Take credit for others doing their thing.
Desantis didnt have this idea andseek out project dynamo. Desantis is a liar. That is his undelying self. He has shown that on national stage to all.

Project dynamo did the work. Desantis just was told to meet so he could attach himself to get credit. It’s what he does.
