Turns out there’s actually LESS to this story than we realized.
The original reports about this “airlift” made it sound like DeSantis was sending aircraft to rescue people who were fleeing a war zone, gathering in desperation on the roof of the U.S. embassy as the last helicopters were lifting off.
In reality, none of these people were in any serious danger. They were just regular travelers who were stranded in Israel when their flights were canceled.
Maybe DeSantis will do the same thing next winter when Florida travelers get stuck at an airport in Minneapolis or Chicago during a snowstorm.
That was too easy.
