They make loaded ammo and projectiles for reloading.
Top quality.
Weird stuff, going on.
Trust nothing fedgov says.

Primer compound is some sensitive stuff. It only takes one second of carelessness to cause something like this.

And here I was, thinking I’d like to buy a new pistol in the next several months.
And probably some ammo in a few months.

I wonder if Lake City procures much of their 5.56 or 7.62 from Hornady. I don’t see anything about them making bullets.

That’s one way that POS Biden can get gun control. No ammo.

“one woman dead and at least two other people injured”
No, Hornady does not make it’s own primers.

A lot of people reload. And over the past 6 months the supply of components has been better than in past 4 years.
But seems like the wholesale distributors get large shipments in, looks like things will stabilize, then 2-3 weeks go by and wholes start showing up in inventory.
Even primers were available.

I’m not an advertiser, but there is a place in Stillwater, OK who has some M855, at least when I was there. Might be gone now.

OK, I stand corrected. I searched and found the statement I made.
I know about primers. Have friends who re prime them.
With proper care, it is not that dangerous.

Lake City produces it’s own components; i.e. brass and bullets and loaded ammo.
It’s being operated by Winchester at the moment.

So Hornady's Frontier line is made at Lake City.
Did not know that.
Thanks.

Thanks. I haven’t seen any reference to on-site projectile manufacture.
Per Wikipedia: An accidental explosion in a primer manufacturing facility at the plant in April 2017 killed one worker and injured four others.
