JERUSALEM, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said on Sunday that the chamber would push through a military aid package to help Israel in its war against the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas.
"We will work to move this aid through the Senate ASAP, and the Israeli leaders made it clear to us they need the aid quickly," said Schumer during a trip to Israel.
He said among Israel's requests are additional interceptors for its Iron Dome missile defense system, which has been operating non-stop shooting down Hamas rockets from Gaza, and precision munitions.
"What about the House (of Representatives)? We're not waiting for the House. We believe if the Senate acts in a strong bipartisan way, it may indeed improve the chances that the House, even with its current dysfunction, will act," Schumer said...

I have no problem with sending aid to Israel, but I thought the power of the purse belongs to the House. Besides, how can we compete with the billions Biden just gave Iran?
Schumer can do things if he can safely get out of his apartment home where hundreds of chanting anti-Israel protesters cheering for Hamas surround it every night.

Well yeah, I think it does.
Despite the popular FR mantra that "The Democrats hate Israel!", Israel has historically enjoyed fierce bipartisan support from the U.S. (This, despite occasional outliers like The Squad or Ron Paul.)

Zelensky’s whining again......to light a fire under the DC Establishment for a-no-th-er US debt- laughtering Israeli foreign aid package - so they can slide in $$goodies for Ukraine.
Plus Zelensky’s sex-starved——his wife is “holding out” until US foreign aid finances another of her shopping trips to Paris.
“We will likely get this exact model,” Zelensky said in an interview Sunday with Ukrainian media, “the Israeli model that includes weapons, technology, training [and] finances.”
Such an arrangement would provide Ukraine less security than membership in NATO, which President Biden has said won’t happen before the end of the war. But it would establish Ukraine as a critical long-term partner for the U.S. in Eastern Europe, while sending Russia the message that Western support for Kyiv won’t waiver.
Congress is required by law to ensure that U.S. military aid in the Middle East region doesn’t damage Israel’s military superiority over its neighbors. That requirement enjoys broad bipartisan support and has served as a benchmark for ensuring Israel receives robust U.S. support.

The Iron Dome system is not American. Israel rejected Patriots as being inferior. The interceptors mentioned are not American. Not clear how the US could rush anything.

Iron Dome aerial targets that can be met by Iron Dome anti-air weapons, are served by those Iron Dome anti-air weapons.
Both anti-air systems - Iron Dome and Patriot - have been working together for some HAMAS attacks - when Iron Dome itself, is found to be in need of Patriot missiles, because Iron Dome does not have enough of its own anti-air weapons available.
Just give aid to the whole world! Why not! Shake the magic money tree!

Shumer is all for protecting Israel while he is adamantly opposed to protecting our southern border. His loyalty is to Israel and not to the United States.
All bills must originate in the house of reps...I wish all of our reps and senators would read the constitution.
