I don’t believe it. We still rely on them far too much for too many textiles and medicines. All things we could do ourselves, but for government and big business colluding against our best interests.

the Latinx word salader confused our military budgets to “millions” instead of “billions”, tells you all you need to know about the witlessness of this piece.

Well, to be fair, it is true that the US spent $800 million on defense last year. The time frame is a little off, that's all--it was $800 million every afternoon.

Then war may be the next step, to unite the people against an outsider and distract them from their economic problems.

China became dominant when the U.S. and many other countries sought cheap labor and a willingness to not chase excellence within their own countries. While most of the West was busy with quick results, the Chinese were positioning themselves for the long game. The Chinese don’t struggle with a government that is flux in every few years, and the Chinese mentality is much more Nation-centric than the West. Heck, we have people in our government that clearly want America to fail. In China, it’s the Country/Party first….no exceptions allowed.

A large amount of the growth being generated by Chinese since the mid-2000’s, was primarily due to Chinese government spending on everything imaginable. They were throwing up entire cities designed to hold millions of people, but that largely ended up as ghost towns.

They continued to spend, spend, spend, on jobs that could have been done by a 10th of the people. I can’t tell you the number of times, that I saw dozens of people with half-@$$ brooms sweeping ,Ike’s of cities streets when a single street sweeper could have done 10x the road in a 10th of the time.

The hope of a middle-class in Chinese never really materialized, so that goal for China to have some degree of internal spending to drive economic benefit never really happened. And those that had money sought ways to get the money out of the country and away from the Chinese government.

China’s actual most important export was not their cheap goods or service, but students. Many of whom who have studied at top universities and in technical fields. Good luck finding Chinese National students taking nonsense liberal art majors.

That has always been my concern. History repeats.

Yes, it did. They have 600 million people living every bit as well as we do. In 1994, China was poor with 85% peasants. In 2024, China is a first world nation.

Students do not rack of trillion in exports.

You are trying to wax eloquent, when you are not stating facts.

Really? Then why is that so many of the things that I buy say, “Made in China”?

Step outside of the urban areas and the decline in living conditions drops dramatically. While there are poor places in the U.S., there are still lots of places in China without running water and/or decent sanitation. Actually, there are still small pockets in places like Beijing. But they are hidden pretty well.

Dollars of exports has little to do with real issue. That of the students coming from China, and then taking that knowledge back to China. That includes working on research projects, possibly even doing internships.

Maybe do some research before trying to be sarcastic.

“ When did China ever have global dominance?”

Exactly. That’s what I was going to say.

More leftist disinformation from Business Insider and it’s leftist fools.

Red China is here to stay and remain a possibility of being the world’s largest nuclear weapons military force, and willing to sacrifice hundreds of millions of their own people in order to create a “New China World Order”.

They do not play around except with our minds and fears.
