Decades ago I spent three years writing The Samson Option (1991), an exposé of the unstated policy of American presidents going back to Dwight Eisenhower to look the other way as Israel began the process of building an atomic bomb. The right or wrong for Israel, in the aftermath of the Holocaust, was not the point of the book. My point was that what America was doing was known throughout the Third World, as it was then called, and our duplicity made our worries about the spread of nuclear weapons another example of American hypocrisy. Since then others have undertaken far more comprehensive studies, as some of the most highly classified Israeli and US documents have become public.

Israel was not overrun by Egyptian or Syrian forces.
Egypt did make some incursions into the Sinai which at the time was under Israeli control but never invaded Israel proper.
Syria could have driven into the heart of Israel but did not making limited progress in the Golan Heights...but never Israel proper. Their failure to do so allowed Israeli armored forces to hold the line until more units could join the battle.

That said there were many interviews of people after the attacks and they were saying if he didn’t flatten Gaza then Bibi needs to pack up and leave Israel. So far, not a whole lot that the people wanted is happening in Gaza because all the international meddlers are involved now.
He probably is done because he is going to be the one blamed fair or not. It will make the Biden regime happy though.
Keep in mind that whoever is his replacement will probably be much worse.

The Israelis knew that they cannot count on any country to help them if faced with another holocaust since no country, including the Vatican, who knew what was happening came to the Jews aid. If faced with another holocaust from Iran you can bet they will use any weapon they have to avoid that. I’d bet if they had to use one they would use an EMP weapon on Iran.

I think a lot of the criticism of the “intelligence failure” is Monday morning quarterbacking. If anything, the over reliance on electronic intel is the problem. Everyone by now knows the key to surprise is to communicate off the grid.
Not top mention Hamas only had to break through a wall and advance a few miles to cause havoc. A Japanese fleet had to cross the Pacific to surprised Pearl Harbor. If Israel is guilty of anything, it’s complacency.

Oh a side note, people have called Israel nuking Iran (which may occur given Iran’s provocations) as “The Samson Option”.
It is not.
The Samson Option is where Israel pulls nukes in on itself (Israeli territory) in case they’re being overrun. Which was a real possibility.
If possible, they would have done this to outer regions as enemy armor was approaching.
Samson, of course, pushed the roof-supporting columns apart, taking out a whole bunch of Philistines. Samson was also killed in the collapse.
Really makes me wonder if the US knew about the attack and the WH kept their mouth shut to let this play out.
I don’t think Bibi cares about anything except survival of Israel and it’s peeps. Political survival might assist in that goal, but isn’t his goal, it seems from this distance.

I’m gobsmacked there’s resistance to his attempts to disallow SC (liberal) justices to choose their replacements which guarantees liberalism will reign havoc forever.
I suspect —but do not know—this court had a hand in squashing citizen’s rights to own firearms and if so could benefit Bibi after this Hamas invasion.
