Ron DeSantis mocks Donald Trump for failing to stop ‘stolen’ 2020 election

'Why didn't Trump do something about it?' An incredulous Ron DeSantis is yet again addressing the former President’s contention that the 2020 election was “stolen,” saying that’s an “untenable position.”

Speaking at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics’ “Politics and Eggs” event, the Florida Governor didn’t hold back when asked to evaluate Donald Trump’s ongoing contention that he didn’t lose fairly to Joe Biden.

“If that is true, he was the sitting President of the United States and let that happen to him. I would never let that happen. As Governor, would I just sit there and let something like that happen?”

DeSantis wondered “why didn’t Trump do something about it.”

“And if you didn’t do something in 2020, how are you going to solve that problem? As a private citizen rage tweeting from Mar-A-Lago? There’s just no way. So I think it’s an untenable position that he’s taken,” he added.

"DeSantis is right.

If 2020 was stolen, it's because Trump went on vacation and left the garage door open."An obvious comment from another TDS devotee.

Your tagline is missing the last part of the phrase.,,"then destroys his future political career?.

Post 15 sums it up. That treasonous prick Barr sealed he blocked every attempt to expose the steal. He stayed until the last day so he could do so.

"I only hire the best!"

Maybe Trump shouldn't have filled his entire administration with Papa and Jr Bush's JV team who never wanted him to be president to begin with?

Yet I'm told repeatedly that it is actually DeSantis who is a puppet of the Bush/Rove Deep State.

Trump did nothing to prove the election was stolen. He never even addressed the country about it.

Two lies in one post. 🤬

You’re right.

Disloyalty and selfishness are now norms of the degeneration of people. Since the 1950s peak of church and synagogue attendance loyalty and integrity have gone downhill.

another attempt at gaslighting FR....

the federal government doesn’t control how elections are conducted in each state.

states, or the secretary of state of each state, control how elections are conducted in each state...

now desantis supporters/never trumpets want the federal government to control elections....

This only means one of two things:

  1. Ron DeSantis is on board with this election fraud that took place, and is willing to play the part of the controlled opposition.

  2. Ron DeSantis has decided this crucial issue should be used as a prop to use in his campaign.

Every time he opens his mouth as he falls further behind, he smacks of either desperation or vindictiveness.

Well, there is a strong consensus here on Free Republic that Ron DeSantis has ruined his political career, and can never run for president again. But we do not know what the political landscape is going to look like in 2028.

Some people thought Nixon’s political career was over especially after his 1962 defeat for governor of California.

Some people thought that Reagan was finished after his strong challenge to President Ford in 1976 fell short.

And history tells us many nominees for president ,do not get the nomination the very first time they run in the primaries.

You sure about that? I say stick a fork in him. He’s done forever.

We can't predict the future, but we can look at the past - guys like Trump and Reagan not only lost their first times running for president, they were both were roundly laughed at. They learned from the experience, found ways to improve as campaigners and came back to win the White House. Dismissing a solid conservative because he dared to defy Trump is just helping leftists.

Actual conservatives? People who like winning elections?

Well then he missed his target. Because the only ones he's appealing to are losers, and you know what I mean.

Patently false. Also, the media was doing their best not to report anything Trump was saying. They even had memos about not reporting the state of election numbers on election night. They were prepping for this scam for months. If Trump did nothing it’s because the country doesn’t belong to the people. Even military was working with China telling them to ignore the commander. Desanctimonius is awful. If he’s the nominee I’d say stick with Biden

The only good pick Trump made was in Scotty Pruitt to take a flamethrower to the EPA. But in doing so, Pruitt made liberals cry so Trump demanded his resignation.

    That's when I knew we'd been had.
