An Israeli lawmaker is calling for her nation's military to use nuclear warfare in response to attacks by Hamas.
Revital "Tally" Gotliv, an Israeli lawyer and member of the Knesset for the Likud, published multiple posts advocating for a forceful retaliation following a surprise attack on Gaza on Saturday at the hands of the militant Palestinian group designated as a terrorist organization by the United States.
More than 1,600 combined Israelis and Palestinians have reportedly been killed since Hamas launched attacks, according to the Associated Press, and hundreds of others have been injured. Hamas has reportedly taken an unknown number of hostages as the conflict has escalated.
"Jericho Missile! Jericho Missile! Strategic alert. before considering the introduction of forces. Doomsday weapon! This is my opinion. May God preserve all our strength," Gotliv wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday, according to a translation.

Now, I am not expert on nuclear weapons—although I did learn about them in ROTC. But I don’t think you want to see off nukes mere miles from your border. Winds along the ocean/sea can be tricky and you don’t want that crap floating over your homes.
This came out several days ago. This “lawmaker“ is reacting with emotion. While that is somewhat understandable, the role of an influential person is to think rationally, project calm, and act responsibly. She has done none of these things.
First of all, she is publicly stating that Israel has nuclear weapons, something that Israel has never done. Second, Israel has pledged no first use of nuclear weapons in the Middle East, and she has asked for that policy of several decades, and strictly adhered to by all governments, to be turned on its head. Third, she’s advocating for the use of nuclear weapons, which would kill tens or hundreds of thousands of people, in response to the brutal murder of roughly 1000 people. As tragic and enraging as that is, the response that she is advocating is incredibly disproportionate, and utterly uncalled for. Sending in troops to utterly destroy. Hamas is a reasons and proportional response, and that is in progress right now. Fourth, where does this emotional dunce think that the fallout is going to travel to first? The obvious answer is that there will be fallout all over the Middle East, starting with her own country. So too get revenge for the killing of roughly 1000 people, she proposes that hundreds of thousands of Israelis be irradiated and die (or get cancer) for one of the multitude of medical reasons related to radiation poisoning. Real bright.
At a minimum, this lady needs to apologize to her people, and to people everywhere in the world, and to simultaneously announce that she will not stand for reelection. I would prefer that she is forced to resign right now, so irresponsible were her words. Note that I say this is somebody whose brother and many nieces and nephews live in Israel. I also have, as does my wife, many distant cousins, and the children of many of our friends, living in Israel, and at risk. But irresponsible is irresponsible, regardless of who says it or on behalf of whom it is done. Her failure to connect her brain with her tongue, while being in a responsible position, disqualified her from being in a responsible position. She may be a wonderful person, a great wife, mother, and perhaps grandmother, but she has demonstrated that she is completely ill-suited for a responsible position in public life.
During the 1973 Yom Kippur War when Israel’s back was against the wall, and things looked dire, Israel armed some of its land-based missiles with nukes and some of its warplanes with nukes and ordered a nuclear alert. Their targets: Syria’s and Egypt’s capitals and command and control sites. If the tide of the war had not turned, the consensus among intelligence experts is that Israel would have issued the GO and LAUNCH orders.
Reminds me of that Star Trek joke, where a child asks his daddy why there are no Muslims shown on Star Trek, which takes place in the 23rd century. Daddy replies “Because in the 21st century, non-Muslims launched doomsday missiles against Muslims after being attacked... and there was now peace on Earth.”
Hi.
May I Suggest a 1k weapon detonated over Baharestan Square at the end of October?
Just saying.
5.56mm
The difference now, is that Israel has 5 submarines equipped with nuclear cruise missiles. Highly mobile and hard to detect. Their newest sub INS_Drakon is being equipped with vertically launched nuclear missiles capable of reaching all of Iran.
I imagine Israel has access to thermobaric devices-the poor man’s answer to nukes. Does the same thing without radiation.
Of course it is different now: 1973 was 50 years ago.
I wasn't aware there was a 68 war. What happened then?
Who in their right mind in Israel wants to deal with the fallout from a nuclear weapon in Gaza?
The Israelis have had this plan since they developed nukes.
It’s called “The Sampson Option’’. As Sampson bought down the the Temple of Dagon on himself and the Philistines if the Israelis see they’re going to go down then they’ll pull the chain and good bye Damascus, Ammon, Mecca, Cairo.
It’ll be Armageddon.
Good post on your #31.
This might be it.
Pray for Israel and Christians around the world.
We will be the objects of scorn, ridicule, and hate when this happens.
Yikes 😳🙀😲
