That’s the problem. Scalise is GOPe and Jordan is MAGA Tea arty. If neither of them can get the 217 (218 is an absolute majority), then who can? The Establishment doesn’t want Jordan and MAGA doesn’t want McCarthy, Scalise, or anyone like them. Who can get the votes that is worth giving them to?
This is why Gaetz’s gambit was a bad idea. Once you kill the King, you have to have a plan for the aftermath.

They are apparently so foolish that not only will their way get President Biden re-elected (Trump’s commentary on the war is foolish), it will get Biden a Democrat House and Senate. Gaetz’ fault; also Netanyahu likely finished after war;
