A majority of Republicans in the United States today would like to see the next Speaker of the House to be “loyal” to President Donald J. Trump, a new poll from CBS/YouGov has found.
According to their survey, conducted between Oct. 4-6, 59 percent of Republicans indicated that they would like the new speaker to be loyal to the president.
The same CBS poll also found that among Democrats, Independents, and Republicans, a large percentage of each party approved of the ousting of former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.
Their data showed that 67 percent of Democrats approved of McCarthy’s removal, while 53 percent of Republicans also approved. 61 percent of Independents were also supportive of McCarthy’s firing.
According to the CBS/YouGov data, Republicans primarily indicated that they did not see McCarthy as an “effective” speaker (80 percent). 54 percent also disapproved of McCarthy’s performance as speaker because he “worked with Democrats,” while 39 percent disapproved because “he didn’t pay enough attention to ‘MAGA.’”
Currently, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, who is also serving as the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has announced his intent to run for Speaker of the House. President Donald Trump has also endorsed Jordan’s bid, along with a slate of America First representatives, including Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., and Rep. Troy Nehls, R-Texas.
In his endorsement, President Trump called Rep. Jordan a “STAR” who would be “STRONG on Crime, Borders, our Military/Vets, & 2nd Amendment.”
The race to select a new Speaker of the House intensified over the weekend amid Hamas terrorists’ deadly incursion into Israel, leaving countless men, women, and children dead.
According to NBC, the interim Speaker of the House, Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., is essentially powerless to make any big decision in Congress in terms of what the U.S. can do to help Israel in the wake of the Hamas attacks.
The Speaker is only one person...he can promise all he wants...the House makes the decision...
Afraid we’re about to get stuck with McCarthy again as the Rats are going to do an “about face” and support him.
i.e. Share similar ideas and policies.
I want that too!
I do think, however, Mitch should have been the logical one to replace first.
Whats the f’n hold up? Call a vote on Jordan already!
Are they mutually exclusive? How about your wife?
Maybe elect a dog as Speaker?
I think the reference is to a person who will not stab Trump in the back. I am loyal to my country, the Constitution, and my family.
burn the midnight oil and get it done...scalice or jordan...how hard is that...they’re not exactly newbees
Loyal? Nah. Let it BE TRUMP.
How about the next Republican Speaker just do their job and demand that the House comes up with a legitimate budget.
Pretty much, one of its most important responsibilities. One that hasn’t been done in well over a decade.
One that could really make the Republican party shine if the budget wasn’t filled with bullsh*t.
That can hurt worse than it could help them.
If House Republican’s drafted a legitimate budget, one that made fiscal sense, one that secured the border when even Democrats want it secured, one that funded SocSec, one that took care of what it’s supposed to take care and, maybe, one that doesn’t pay for park bathrooms or research on alcohol and Chinese hookers, one that even had some cuts and some legitimate savings in it, it would be wonderful to see Schumer and Biden tell the American people that they don’t accept the fiscally responsible budget drafted by House Republican’s and instead want to continue to waste even more taxpayer dollars on nonsense.
No...not loyal to Donald Trump. That sounds like East Germany...Red China...North Korea. It should be “loyal to Donald Trump’s achievements as President”!
President Trump supports the US Constitution.
I support President Trump!
MAGA!
