I’m surprised they were caught off guard as Israel is supposed to have the best intelligence. How did so many Hamas manage to infiltrate those villages? I thought they had a secure border.

I’m thinking tunnels. They had a Netflix show regarding Israel and Hamas, and it looked as though the Palestinians were simply going back and forth underneath the border fortifications. While Israel is good at detecting tunnels, it is clearly a cat-and-mouse game, with the tunnels getting harder and harder to find.
Could be MOSSAD isn’t as skilled as they are shown to be on NCIS.
Yeah, I thought they enforced their borders more than we do, and yes, I thought Israel’s intelligence was among the very best in the world. How did they get caught so off guard?
