Russia is preparing for Forever War
The Telegraph via Yahoo ^ | October 6th, 2023 | David Axe

Russia is mobilizing for a long war in Ukraine. The West … isn’t. To preserve Ukraine’s independence and deter further Russian aggression, that must change. Ukraine’s allies must do more, faster – and brace for a conflict that could grind on for years.

But they might already be losing their nerve.

The authoritarian regime of Russian president Vladimir Putin was overconfident in the months leading up to its February 2022 wider invasion of Ukraine. The Kremlin talked about a two-week “special military operation” that would “demilitarize” Ukraine by destroying its armed forces and toppling its elected government.

The two-week war became a two-year war as Ukrainian forces defeated the initial Russian thrust toward Kyiv then counterattacked. Ukrainian counteroffensives in the spring and fall of 2022 rolled back Russian territorial gains to what is now a 600-mile front threading through southern and eastern Ukraine.

The late-2022 Ukrainian counteroffensive was a strategic inflection point for the Kremlin. It was then that the Russians began really digging in for a long war. The two-week special military operation became a four-year special military operation. Last month, Russian defense minister Sergei Shoigu said the war would continue through 2025.

The neocons are not giving up the fantasy of changing the very nature of the west and engaging in one final, existential war with Russia.

FTA: "While the US Senate and the White House – both controlled by Democrats – are strong supporters of a free Ukraine, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives is led by Russian apologists who seem to take their cues from the biggest apologist of them all, indicted former president and insurrectionist Donald Trump."

Brits = russophobic.

They are unable to keep up.

Putin razed Grozny and was pretty horrific, but then the Chechens were sending videos of themselves sawing fingers off kidnapped Russian children..

Anyway, the Brits were all in for the Chechens then.
And now they still hate Russia.

Employees of Russia and extremely well paid and treated.

Recently they had a day off with pay, and all sorts of food and gifts lavished upon them.

There is a lot of Brit projection going on today. Biden and the neocons want a foever war. That is why they are robbing Americans to continue it.

That said I do think Russia expects its this to last a few more years.
Putin said something about that recently.

Biden, if he could, would drag this out for ten years.
That’s what we do.

Watch for troops and a draft later this year or early next year.

There's no "forever war gap" for the USA. We in the USA have had a forever war since Eisenhower left office. Russia has a lot of catching up to do. At least Russia wised up on Aftrashastan long before we did.

There is a reason congress was debating transgender in the military a few months back, under updating our draft rules.

I can’t wait to see the little bidenistas response to troops on the ground in Ukraine.

Popcorn will be needed to watch the responses of Poland, UK,
and those postage stamp countries when asked to walk into Ukraine and fight Russia directly.

Oh wait. Does anyone have any ammo left?

Our MIC is a huge piggie and requires continual feeding.
Let the ghouls celebrate as more death piles up.

You’ll never see a U.S. military draft again in your lifetime.

True, but the reason isn't what you think it is.

The whole purpose of letting transgender mutants into the military is to force the U.S. taxpayer to cover the costs of their "treatment." That's why the military doesn't give a sh!t about the combat readiness of those losers.

If anyone knows about bleeding a military state of it’s resources until it collapses, it’s the Russians. While the west is destabilizing their own countries, Putin has had to have the thought at some point it will have been worth if he can keep it going long enough for the collapse.

No BS, he has a Master’s degree in Fiction…(according to Wiki…I know)

He’s a war correspondent. He gets paid to write about war.
Look at a pic of him.
I guarantee he’s never even been in a fist fight.
He oozes soy.

Not sure I agree. with the premise of this article.

Russia is currently systematically and effectively grinding Ukraine's military capability into the ground.

They are succeeding.

The Ukraine has become the 51st state of America.

The Ukraine GDP was recently in the $75B range and we are now supporting the Ukraine economy with non military monetary payments at very close to that level. It is now close to zero due to the war. We are literally paying the welfare payments to directly fund the salaries for the Ukraine government, the Ukraine military and pensions for Ukrainian retirees - plus much of the rest of the economy.

The minute we withdraw this funding the Ukraine goes into economic collapse in a matter of months - maybe less. This will continue to be the case whether the war continues or if these is a negotiated end to the war thanks to the Biden engineered destruction of the Ukrainian economy.

Where is the money going to come from to support the post war Ukraine when our corrupt leadership no longer has a war to justify the massive cash support to the Ukrainian economy now that we have destroyed it?

Perhaps this is one of the reasons our leadership want to engineer a forever war in Ukraine - they need a pretext to keep pumping money into Ukraine. At least until the 2024 election to hide the disaster they have created in Ukraine.

The Ukraine is also totally dependent upon massive armaments transfer from the US and NATO countries.

The Ukraine has effectively blown through the entire war reserves of man portable weapons the US had set aside for WWIII in Europe in just over a year. With little or nothing more than nearly a half million or more casualties to show for the waste of our assets in this proxy war.

Both the US and NATO have little left to give at a time when the conflict is just starting to ramp up.

The Ukraine is out of everything - especially soldiers to die in a proxy war fueled by corrupt foreign interests.

Not sure this thing is going to last all that much longer.

Our pols may be able to stretch the death and destruction out until after the 2024 election to keep voters from kicking them out in disgust but after that , all bets are off.

Hopefully a new Speaker in the House may be able to force a negotiated end to this war.

Russia is preparing for a “Forever War” because that is the exact intent and wish the politicians, bureaucrats and their minions in our government, NATO and the UN are aiming for.

Gotta keep the chaos and money flowing to maintain their authority and control over us peasants.

We are in a new dark age. There are a small number of Uber wealthy and well connected elites that consider themselves the new royalty / new aristocracy lording over the rest of us (8 billion peasants). This is exactly why the original 13 colonies rebelled against King George.

Most the pity so many people are blind to it.

Meh. SMDH.
