It’s definitely not a new challenge. Nearly a half-century ago, Christian thinker Francis Schaeffer asked “How should we then live?” in a landmark book by the same title (pulled from Ezek 33:10).
So then—how should we? As believers today, we’re still pondering that question.
The irony is the further our culture slides into a postmodern ditch, the more relevant the perspectives of earlier Christians seem to become.

numbers 5, 6, and 7 particularly apply today.
someone needs this today. maybe you, too.
. Schaeffer did a 10 part TV series on this book back in the 70’s which was just brilliant. It greatly shaped my theologica, philosophical and apologetic outlook. It’s on YouTube and WELL worth watching.
.
Thank you for posting this. I have and have read Schaeffer’s book and opened a number of times to clearly remember one or two of his insights. Also, the prayers quoted stir my heart in a fresh way.
The website logos houses some excellent bible study software. I use the lexham bible from them.
#1 should read; PREPARE TO BE PERSECUTED. read every book you can about persecution of Christians. Christians in Egypt have been persecuted by Muslims for 1,400 years. It is insanity to think we are exempt for some reason.
#2: Read lesson #1.
Exactly....Be Prepared as God is NOT going to swoop down and save you.
New Testament Christians lived in a non-Christian world.
As usual, we can learn from them by reading and praying the Bible, and by attending Bible-based services and receiving the Sacraments!!!!
Or to paraphrase Timothy: "Suck it up, tough it out" 2 Timothy 2:3
“It is insanity to think we are exempt for some reason.”

So many do think that. I was having a political discussion with a small group of people last week. Everyone was aware of the serious issues that face us in this country. One woman actually said something to this effect:...”yes, these things are not good, but God will fix it before it gets bad.” She obviously believes this. Wonder if she reads her Bible. But what concerns me is what people like her will do should they face the persecution we see coming. Will they “fall away” from the faith?
When the Communists took over Russia and began persecuting the church, the average church dwindled from 300 to 15. That is a 95% falling away. It will be the same here.
It already HAS BEEN the same here when the Hierachs caved to the governors and insurance underwriters during the scamdemic.
