And I remember quite well what most the media though of Reagan’s conservatism back in the day. Not long ago, I came across an archived article from about 1982 with David Gergen warning Reagan to the effect about more losses in the House and that it was time to “moderate” his approach.

The Mitt Romney Report
Mitt Romney’s record on a range of issues over the years as a Presidential candidate (2007-present), Governor of Massachusetts (Jan. 2003 - Jan. 2007), candidate for US Senate (1994), and businessman.

More hogwash. Yeah, we have to “save democracy”.
Any mention in the article about Democrats and fedzilla trying to force the experimental clot shot at the expense of your job and livelihood?
Any mention in the article about Democrats mandating what health insurance you must buy under penalty of law?
Any mention of the clearly visible tow-tier justice system?
Any mention of the political persecution of Donald Trump or all the J6 defendants who are currently political prisoners?
Yeah, a garbage propaganda article designed to fit the corrupt Deep State’s narrative. Nothing more.

Reagan made a lot of mistakes.
#1 mistake was amnesty.

As hostile as the Dims were to Reagan, that's child's play compared to how they operate today. They didn't put Reagan's supporters into political prison. They didn't multiple times try to impeach Reagan over made up dossiers. They didn't use lawfare to try to bankrupt Reagan.
The left always show you whom they fear the most. Evidently right now the one they fear most is Donald John Trump.

Reagan was deeply suspicious about international interventionism
Bush 1 talked him into sending troops to Lebanon which was one of Reagan’s big errors
Trump is a repudiation of the 30 year corruption of the GOP by the Bush family away from Reagan style America 1st populism to Democrat lite interventionism.

No one does. Question is, would Reagan change or would he remain the same? If he remained the same he would be run over like a freight train, because it's not the same.
The definition of insanity is to continue using old tactics, when new tactics are in use.

Mitt Romney wouldn’t know conservatism if it ran up and kicked him in the nuts.

Neither Romney or Pence is worth listening to. If either one announced that today is Wednesday, Oct. 4th, I’d have to check because both of them are liars, unworthy of our trust.

Freepers all noticing this is “manufacturing consent” and revising history, through the RINO lens of Romney — a name one recalls was intimately related to the Biden-Burisma scandals and all.
Take a look at the "Who we are" portion of the Conversation website to understand this "article" is drivel, placed for political consumption.

Additionally, observe that about half their income goes to "salaries and wages, and perks and fund raising." News? Not at all.
