Unindicted Co-Conspirator Hangs Sidney Powell out to Dry in Fulton County Prosecution

The Georgia election interference case just had an interesting new development, and it’s not looking good for attorney Sidney Powell, one of the defendants facing various charges related to efforts to change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. One of her former cohorts has seen fit to throw her under the bus, so to speak.

An attorney representing former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik placed most of the blame for the debacle on Powell for making false claims about the election.

A lawyer for an alleged co-conspirator in the Georgia 2020 election interference case has said that former Donald Trump lawyer Sidney Powell is mostly at fault over "knowingly" pushing false claims about the results.

SNIP>>>>>>>>>>>

Kerik has not been charged under Willis' probe, but Parlatore previously confirmed to CNN that he was among the 30 "unindicted co-conspirators" who were featured in Willis' indictment against the former president and 18 others, including Powell and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Kerik has been accused of attending meetings in states in which former President Donald Trump was disputing the result of the election. Parlatore sent a letter to Fulton County District Attorney’s Office demanding that his client be granted immunity in exchange for his testimony.

The attorney noted that while there were inaccuracies in the findings of an investigation into the outcome of the election, Powell was the primary individual promoting knowingly false claims. He indicated that this prompted Trump and his lawyer Rudy Giuliani to distance themselves from her.

“It’s a classic case of people wanting to believe so badly they were susceptible to being conned by scam artists, Sydney Powell will probably go to jail and lose her law license, Mike Lindell could easily lose his company and go bankrupt for buying into a fraud”

Who are the con artists commie? What side are you going to be on when the war begins in earnest?

“knowingly” pushing false claims about the results, this in itself is a false claim that most Americans agree with

I think that Powell may get convicted at trial but vindicated on appeal or in a collateral proceeding in federal court. After all, if Powell was "conned by scam artists," she lacked criminal intent or any intent to deceive. Moreover, under controlling First Amendment cases, freedom of speech includes a right to be sincerely wrong on assertions of fact, even to be false in many instances by embellishing or overstating facts.

The entire point of the prosecutions of Trump, Powell, and others is not to enforce the law but to prevent Trump from getting elected again and to damage the defendants personally and impose costs on them as Trump supporters. For Jack Smith and the other prosecutors involved, they know that even if Trump and the defendants are fully vindicated in the long run, there is unlikely to be any cost to the prosecutors themselves personally due to prosecutorial immunity.

For the most part, the worst that could happen in the way of payback is that the taxpayers of Georgia and other jurisdictions may have to pay for the legal fees, lost income, and reputational damage done to the defendants. Or, if Trump gets back in and put an aggressive Attorney General and line prosecutors in place, there is a thin chance that a criminal conspiracy to violate the civil rights of Powell and other defendants might be proven against Jack Smith, Fani Willis, and other deranged prosecutors.

Before you start calling people communists, you should do a little research beforehand.

The Cyber Symposium put on by Mike Lindell was a complete sham, put on with information Lindell paid for and completely bought into, this same person was highly influential on getting Powell to make her absurd claims, particularly about the idea of releasing the Kraken, which was comical in it’s stupidity.

Both Lindell and Powell were so convinced the election was stolen, they bought into a con, there was clear election fraud, just not what these two bought into.

Here’s a nice article from Reuters that details the entire scam.

https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/usa-election-montgomery/

Here’s another article from the daily beast that basically says the same thing.

I expect a full apology but I doubt I will get one.

All the sudden, it’s illegal to complain about election results.

Only if you're a Republican.

Could be, but Powell is in a little different situation, she is a lawyer and took an oath to not represent falsehoods to the court.

If they can prove she knowingly did that, at the very least, she will lose her law license and ruin her career, same goes for Guiliani and the other lawyers on the case that were indicted.

In fact, even without the indictments, all the attorneys are likely to have licenses pulled.

I don’t know if she’s a criminal, but it was obvious early on that Sidney Powell was nuts. The Trump team was smart to distance themselves from her and her coterie of lunatics.

Bar licenses are another matter, but even there, the law is to the effect that good faith is assumed and that minimally plausible claims and apparent misrepresentations are not in themselves grounds for civil, criminal, or professional penalty. If they were, many criminal defense lawyers would be expelled from the bar and sanctioned by courts. Indeed, a great many civil cases are founded on false claims, with the pretrial process meant to weed them out. Losing though does not normally expose the lawyers to sanction.

The people in California are about to pull the law license of John Eastman one of Trump’s lawyers when he was fighting over the 2020 election.

Under normal circumstances, you would be correct, you assume whatever bogus prosecutions will be reversed on appeal.

I would say don’t expect that to happen, what is the track record of Trump’s legal team since the 2020 election, they are the Washington Generals of legal teams, basically getting paid to lose.

The other thing, outwardly the cases against Trump and his lawyers and aides are 100% political, we do not know the evidence that will be presented and what went on inside Trump’s inner circle.

Reuters and The Daily Beast? Seriously?

I’m sure The View has some deep research for you to draw from too.

The worst thing I can wish for for these liberal idiots is that they get everything they wanted from big government.

Your response is typical of someone who doesn’t want to know the truth.

I don’t know too much, but I do know how things packet captures work and how they are gathered, what Lindell was selling was always highly suspicious.

Ask yourself, why hasn’t Lindell produced the real packet captures he claims to have, why did a court appointed mediator rule that Lindell had to pay on his bet, why have major players in Trump World said the guy who sold the information to Lindell is a con artist.

The real issue I have with what Powell and Lindell were selling the real issue of election fraud is now considered a tin foil hat conspiracy and the fraud they were selling is the major reason.

Now that is funny, I guess releasing the Kraken in court is better than no Kraken at all.

If Eastman’s law license is sanctioned, the precedent will in time be turned against Leftist lawyers. Case reports are full of instances in which claims made by criminal defense or plaintiff’s lawyers are rejected as frivolous, unsupported, or contrary to facts. If Eastman loses, those judicial determinations can be turned against the licenses of the lawyers who made those claims.

that’s all true, it’s like when liberals got Harry Reid to eliminate the filibuster on Judges that was then used against Democrats when McConnell removed it for Supreme Court Judges and Trump got 3 judges on the Supreme Court.

Democrats and Republicans are often times similar; the real activists pursue positions without thinking about how it can boomerang back on them.

The Democrats knew that eliminating the filibuster on judges could backfire, but they calculated that it was worth the gain in federal judicial power.

I am smart when it comes to Routers, switches and how the internet works, I spent 20 years configuring Cisco System devices for a handful of major fortune 100 companies, I worked at a Cisco System support center solving networking issues for customers.

When you don’t have facts, you throw out insults, typical.
