For that display of hubris and political naivety alone, he deservesd to lose the Speakership.

So 202 lefty Dems vote to remove McCarthy (and 8 GOP) and we think that is a good thing-Geez we act like high schoolers sometimes.

McCarthy was removed by a majority vote of Congress and it was a good thing.

A new speaker will be voted in after he or she promises anew to do what McCarthy reneged on doing, relying on Democrats to bail him out of his promised responsibility to Republicans and Americans. Had McCarthy not acted as a snake, he would not have have attained the position in the first place.

If the new Speaker does not get the funding process fixed, wash, rinse, repeat. If it takes them months to do it, no problem. There will be no new funding bills while they dither. If they take a few months, the war in Ukraine would end and there would be no need to throw more at that money pit. Not to worry, someone will be chosen before that money train derails.

It is a sad day when when Dems were needed to clean up a GOP mess.

Gaetz was correct about the individual funding bills and the intolerable debt. McCarthy would not have been elected speaker without making the promises he broke. Breaking decades of continuing resolutions and omnibus bills has to start somewhere. The People gave the House the power of the purse to rein in government spending and corruption. Under the CR/omnibus system there is only the choice of (1) funding foreign adventures and having Homeland Security acting as babysitters and clerks processing illegal aliens into the country and distributing them all about, or (2) shutting down the government. Everything is lumped together and all the bad stuff is funded or nothing is funded.

As we are running annual deficits in the trillions, Fox Business projects the interest alone will reach $1.4T in 2032. For 333M people, that would be $3 per person tax for 1B; $3,000 per person tax for $1T. Call that 12K/yr for every family of four to collect $1T for the banks. It can't continue.

Congress can control agency behavior by the funding process, but not the current funding process, which is designed by the uniparty to enable fraud, waste and abuse while leaving nobody accountable.
