Democrat New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on Monday announced 18,000 new jobs for eligible asylum seekers and migrants as New York City faces an influx of more than 125,000 people.
Hochul said the state’s Department of Labor has identified more than 18,000 private sector job openings at 379 companies across the state who have identified roles that could be filled by individuals with legal work status since first beginning assessment and outreach on Aug. 24.
About 24% of the job openings are in accommodation and food services with 90 businesses, according to the governor office’s breakdown. Another 21% of the openings are in healthcare and social assistance with 79 businesses. Manufacturing accounts for 10% of the openings with 38 businesses, and administrative support accounts for 8% with 29 businesses.

yeah I want ‘food service’ from an illegal alien
.....thereby honoring her pledge to the uniparty.
Uh, I hire in the ‘private’ sector. Not sure that I would be jumping up and down over these applicants.
Three questions for this idiot:
1) Will employers be required to give a preference to these illegals, or provided incentives to do so?
2) Will their pay have deductions for taxes?
3) What if they refuse to work, or are terminated?
To the point how does this affect AMERICANS, not MARXIST POLITICIANS?
See folks, there’s magically jobs and shelter available for foreign infiltrators, but not for the homeless vets and citizens. Notice how fast the elites move their asses to help foreigners who illegally entered our country.
Things might actually get so bad that Democrats might start questioning whether they should continue voting Dem. It would have to get really really bad for that to happen, but we’re at least half way there imo.
When word gets out about her Job Fair, even more bums will assemble in NYC. It’s a win/win, baby!
....and will any effort at all be undertaken to offer any of these jobs to homeless vets or other Americans on hard times?
No?
Oh. I thought so. These latter are not on “The Official Useful Pawn” list.
I have a one-word response to this, if so..
Can you get criminal prison records when you hire? Many states don’t allow it. If they honestly checked the box yes.
44+ million Americans needs jobs first.
The whole state not NY city. Do the companies with the 18,000 jobs have a choice?
Deport the wetbacks. Fire 18,000 lazy ass government employees. If those lazy asses are so inclined they can go after the 18,000 jobs in the private sector.
One job for every 7 people.
And all 18,000 will pass E-Verify. Right?
Only after a bona fide offer. Then you can screen for felonies (at least in New York State). You can’t ask at the interview. If they lie, and say that they have no felonies, our company takes them at their word. If you find out they do have a felony, then you can terminate them
She’s promoting 86% of the 125K not having employment opportunities available, and ignoring the unknown percentage of employers that don’t want them as employees. Or, the percentage that plan on crime as their primary source of income.
So what is it Kathy? When the next few busloads arrive, how impressive will that 18K of potential jobs be?
Maybe, just maybe we shouldn’t have chaos on the border?
Are their legs broken?
