Former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign early Sunday left a birdcage and bird food in front of GOP presidential hopeful Nikki Haley’s hotel room door in Des Moines in reference to his new nickname for her, “Birdbrain,” per a photo shared with The Messenger.
The Trump campaign shared the photo early Sunday with The Messenger and later posted the picture on Twitter.
Trump debuted the moniker prior to Wednesday’s debate on his social media platform Truth Social. It's unclear why he came up with that nickname in particular.
"MAGA, or I, will never go for Birdbrain Nikki Haley," Trump wrote in the post. "Birdbrain doesn’t have the TALENT or TEMPERAMENT to do the job. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
Haley had a strong performance at the debate, and Trump posted about the former U.N. ambassador afterward as well.

His campaign did. They even tweeted about it. Trump himself did not go to Nikki Haley's hotel room.
So you came here to say that you have no comment? Got it.
That’s correct. I just came here to see what other people are saying about this.
President Trump is the master political strategist of our time and with each strategic move, captures more votes and marches towards victory in 2024.
Not classy. May alienate female white voters that we need.
Trump’s petulant behavior makes me proud of how my kids never teased or bullied anyone with utterly stupid nicknames, even in grade school or middle school.
> First place Haley has ss protection as candidate <
Democrat candidate RFK Jr said that he asked for Secret Service protection, but it was denied. So I’d be surprised if Haley had it.
I’m more interested in how many faggot Karens will clutch pearls over this.
What follows accepts the article at face value:
If he announced it ahead ot time or tipped Haley’s staff that he would do it, it doesn’t sound as puzzling to me. Kinda surprised knowledge of which room she was staying in was so easily obtained.
It’s not something I would have done, as I can’t see the benefit of it. Wonder if he’ll do something similar to his opponent in the general if he’s the nominee.
My understanding of Trump is that he hits back rather than hitting first. But I can’t recall any other similar incidents having happened to Trump. Though it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that they have—and without any heads-up.
> Not classy. May alienate female white voters that we need. <
When it comes to politics, Trump thinks tactically. You win skirmishes that way. But wars are won by thinking far ahead, strategically. This “birdbrain” stunt was not a good strategic move.
There’s no need to us that. If you’re just going to lurk, then lurk. If you’ve got something to say, come out and say it, rather than hiding behind these passive/aggressive comments of yours?
Keep your head in the sand. You’re doing great.
Oh, then this is terribly stupid.
Why isn't it good? It elevates Haley at the obvious expense of DeSantis, which is exactly what he's trying to do at the moment. Maybe that's a mistake, but that's his campaign strategy.
**Correction**
There’s no need to tell us that. If you’re just going to lurk, then lurk. If you’ve got something to say, come out and say it, rather than hiding behind these passive/aggressive comments of yours.
I don't. Ronald Reagan, though part of a different time, had it down perfectly. A little twinkle in his eye, he could politically eviscerate an opponent with an 'Aw Shucks' attitude and a brilliant quip.
Trump would have been wise to learn from Ronaldus Magnus.
The article says the Trump campaign took responsibility for it. But is there independent verification from the campaign itself?
I think Trump had destroyed his bridge with that voter bloc a long time ago. Biden will use the abortion issue to remind them to vote for him.
supposedly.
