New details emerge about the troubled final days of Ron DeSantis confidant Kent Stermon

Nearly a year after his suicide, some lurid details have finally been confirmed. Nearly a year after the December suicide of Kent Stermon, Northeast Florida officials are offering real insight into the events leading up to the shocking incident in which a man once named “Citizen of the Year” by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office took his own life amid controversy that got global attention.

Stermon, a 50-year-old man who was connected to Jacksonville-area Republicans and who played a major role in the political ascent of Ron DeSantis to the Governorship, was under confirmed investigation from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (which started in November 2022) when he took his own life at the Mayport Post Office last year.

Rumors swirled for months, though it ultimately took until the end of September to align all the facts.

From there, the request became more lurid. The purported backstage coordinators wanted revealing pictures and wanted the victim to answer questions about her “sexual orientation and degree of promiscuity” and to send revealing pictures. Stermon then directed the victim to visit his former office for money for the tickets. When she showed up, he gave her $1,500 and offered her more money, including $10,000 for a “lap dance” and $5,000 for “Facetime sex.”

The victim refused those solicitations, but was pressured into going topless and showing Stermon her bare breasts for 30 seconds, which she was compelled to time on her smartphone’s stopwatch function. She then was compelled to hug him goodbye.

I suppose this is just another democrat smear operation since the guy is linked to DeSantis.

A story about Sterman. His demise has NOTHING to do with the Governor!

Sounds like Ron did some ‘housecleaning’ prior to running. Must be taking lessons from Bill and Skunk Cabbage.

But maybe something about Jacksonville...I lived there for several years, and it always struck me as a total nest of corruption, although it rarely became public knowledge.

The last mayor, Lenny Curry, was a RINO who opposed De Santis on opening up and was a completely ineffectual mayor who didn’t do anything when BLM managed to bring in some ringers to stage a riot, where their great achievement was breaking the windows on Jacksonville’s nice new main library building. I’m not even sure he permitted arrests.

Florida sheriff’s depts are notoriously problematic, shall we say, so they didn’t do much except follow his orders and try to break up “illegal” outdoor gatherings (not ordered by De Santis but by Lenny Curry). De Santis even had to visit him personally and have a chat after one particularly outrageous action, and then Curry had to back off on his Covid insanity.

The current mayor is a very left wing Dem (former newscaster) and I think is going to be even worse, plus so many NE liberals have moved to Jax (it has a lot of universities and medical institutions) that I think it’s going to be totally blue soon.

So I can actually believe anything about somebody in Jacksonville politics...

“Appears to be groomer-like activity”

According to the story, this is a “young woman”, and I didn’t see anything to indicate she is a minor. Personally, I don’t associate grooming to adults. As much of a dirt bag as this guy is, the woman agreed to certain acts for certain benefits, and then declined at the point the requests exceeded her comfort level. How many times did she reject the opportunity to say, “Stay away from me you old pervert”?
