This is a flood-pocalypse New Yorkers shouldn’t ignore.
Biblical downpours battered the Big Apple early Friday morning, inundating buses, swamping schools and turning streets into Venetian canals as NYC Mayor Eric Adams issued a state of emergency due to the potential for flash floods.
“This is time for heightened alertness and extreme caution,” declared Hizzoner during a press conference.
“We could possibly see 8 inches of rain before the day is over. This dangerous weather condition is not over, and I don’t want those gaps in heavy rain to give the appearance that [it is] over.”

F’ NYC and every other city.. they’re the shxtholes of society...and I’m being nice.
Nothing to worry about when ‘The Homeless’ is pushing you into the path an incoming subway, but better be careful when you see a few inches of water.
“They really thing everybody is stupid”
…I do too. I’m seeing more dumbasses than ever masking up again. You know these idiots have had the jab and likely multiple boosters too.
How to stay safe in NYChitty?? Stay the hell away
Maybe it’ll flush away some illegals along with the rest of the trash.
Yes, they should wear a mask, and be sure to put on a dry one if the mask gets wet from the rain. /s
Maybe the illegal immigrants will get a much needed bath.
How do you stay safe from the flood of robbers, muggers, con men, crooks, and those who will shove you in front of a train?
Same here.
Have they blamed this big rain storm on global warming?
I could not walk outside so I went to the Danbury Fair Mall to do my walking. I ended up going close to five miles just by making three complete circuits of the mall (on each floor) including walking the nooks and crannies.
I was pretty impressed by this mall. The new Barnes & Noble bookstore is on two floors. They are in in process of building a large recreation area with bowling alleys, billiard tables and other such attractions. Quite a few quality restaurants are attached to the mall as well.
This is certainly not a "dead" mall but seems to be thriving. I did not see any riff-raff either. Then again, it was early on a Friday afternoon.
All in all, it was a nice rainy day. Back when I was growing up, we would have called this a soaking rain storm.
It was definitely a soaker. But not the cataclysmic event the hysterical media is making it out to be.
New York City is okay except for its people.
I drove from NH to MD today. Just got home. I normally bypass NYC and go through Scranton, PA.
I’m so glad today.
Glad I’m at the top of a big hill.
Got to hate climbing that hill, but not now.
Sounds like the mayor and everyone in his administration needs to be summarily disposed of with prejudice...
PUT YOUR MASK ON AND FEEL BETTER, IT TAKES AWAY ALL YOUR WORRIES NO MATTER WHAT THEY ARE
