In a time when we think we’ve seen the apex of Biden’s intentional destruction of the nation, we woke up Wednesday to see a new low: a 95-year-old Korean War veteran was booted from his nursing home to make room for the illegal immigrants pouring over the borders at record levels.
Frank Tammaro, wearing a Korean War Veteran hat, claims Island Shores, the nursing home where he used to live, gave him six weeks to pack his bags and vacate his room.
“The thing I’m annoyed about is how they did it, it was very disgraceful what they did to the people in Island Shores,” Tammaro stated. “Then one day there was a notice on the board. I think that gave us a month and a half to find out where we were going to go. I thought my suitcases were going to be on the curb because I’m not that fast.”

The Demoncrats’ plans are to destroy the Middle CLass and then disarm law abiding citizens and then “Hello Socialism”. The elites and poor folks will not pay for all the free stuff they are giving the illegals which means the Middle Class will foot the bill. I believe the Dems will also try to find ways to let the illegals vote ... for them of course.
This person should be the face of Democrat illegal immigrant related corruption. I’d get right in Kathy Hochul’s face about this big time.
Guess he’s not a hero to the Left like a certain other veteran in his 90s honored in Canada recently .
I had and have some doubts about this story.
I am a former USAF officer.
The facility is called Island Shores Assisted Living. There is a difference between Assisted Living and Nursing Homes (usually nowadays called Memory Care). There are three levels of senior residence — Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care.
The VA will not cover Assisted Living. The VA has a vast network of various kinds of nursing homes, but they do not cover Independent Living or Assisted Living.
We’ll take the situation at this old guy’s claim (but I can assure you there is a huge number of old guys who buy a hat and have no DD214 in their records), but they gave him 6 weeks to find alternatives. He doesn’t move that fast? Shaky complaint. 6 weeks is not nothing. If he has no Dementia (and if he did the VA would have him in a nursing home), 6 weeks is not bad.
I think the story is hyped a bit. More than a bit.
“Just when you think DemocRats have hit rock bottom, they pull out the hammer drills and go deeper.”
Oh, honey... if you think ‘this’ is an example of the Marxist rats hitting rock bottom... you have failed to study history.
it is the system that is evil
..... at least the "republican" politicians say pleasant things that tickle your ears and make you believe there is someone on your side, heck , they might even hold an impeachment show for us
I think it is hyped in one way: to a lot of people a 95yo would need a lot of care! And he apparently is a vet...
However, I have to admit that I find it distasteful (at best) that the government can come in with Big Bucks and make businesses “offas dey can’t refuse.”
In our society, we have a system that pretty much works: here, we have businesses which provide elderly people with services that they can afford.
But then the government comes in with its heavy hand and starts taking those places over. You see it on cop shows every day: oh, you do not desire to accede to our very reasonable request? I have 10 different kinds on inspectors on speed dial here....
And the costs of living goes up faster for elderly people.
I think most Americans are willing to sacrifice for veterans. And I think most would be willing to sacrifice a small amount for true refugees.
But I do not understand why we are sacrificing our veterans for illegal immigrants under whatever appellation or cover story.
I don’t think it is clear in the article, but I did not read it as the govt forcing Island Shores to do things. I read it as the Island Shores ownership chose to sell the facility.
Either the govt bought it, or the facility owners were offered $XXXXXX to change the facility over to illegal housing. I don’t think anyone was forced to do anything, other than evaluate the money differential.
Medicaid generally won’t fund Assisted Living either, so the money differential is some gov’t offer vs individual resources.
Yes, taxpayers are getting stuck with the bill for illegals, but the throwing around of veteran status for this old guy really should not have been in play. It’s not a VA facility and not relevant.
