The second Republican primary debate on Wednesday drew a considerably smaller audience than the first debate, bringing in more than three million fewer viewers.
Hosted at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, the debate drew about 9.5 million viewers through Fox Business, the network's other channels, and Univision, The Hill reported, citing Nielsen data. The first debate drew in 13 million viewers, meaning the second debate saw a roughly 27% drop.
Former President Donald Trump, the leading candidate in the race, attended neither event and the only lineup change on Wednesday evening was the absence of former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, who failed to qualify.
The second debate saw few candidates stand out with memorable quips or exchanges and none appear to have come away with a clear victory.
In the wake of the debate, the Trump campaign has called on the Republican National Committee to cancel the remaining debates and commit its resources to ousting President Joe Biden from the White House.
"The RNC should immediately put an end to any further primary debates so we can train our fire on Crooked Joe Biden and quit wasting time and money that could be going to evicting Biden from the White House," Trump Campaign Senior Advisor Chris LaCivita said after the debate's conclusion.

I caught the last half of it, it was a disaster.
I guess a tonne of people refused to watch after Asa failed to make the cut. Should have let him debate!
they were all acting like children constantly belittling and talking over each other. It was annoying as hell, especially that shrill lady.
Was reading while it was on and so heard some but kept tuning it out.
The part with Christie was totally weird.
.
This is why Brett Baier is livid at Trump.
They want their shot to take out Trump. Hunter’s laptop was ruled off-limits in FOX 2020 Debates.
.
I’ll bet the 9.5 million viewers that did watch regretted their decision
Please applause
Please watch
Oh, please pay attention to us now. We haven’t done a damn thing, despite decades of promises. But this time we really mean it. Pinky swear
Watching a re-run of the God-Awful Karate Kid with Will Smith’s son. That is how little interest I have if the GOP lives or dies. And my wife picked the show. I would rather watch static
Trump; or our nation dies. It’s that simple
.
Note: FOX isn’t clamoring and prodding Biden to sit for an Interview.

I changed to videos by The Hornet King.
Am watching “Gutfeld”, and the comments of his guests are really funny, and brutal!
It appears the GOP-E existing only to foster the illusion there are two parties. This must of been what Whigs felt like in the 1850s.
No one cares about this sideshow. It’s the main event that has everyone mesmerized. Trump v. Uniparty
Maybe they should hire Murdoch’s wife and Soros’ son to host #3.
Still beat trumps speech by 10 million. He had around 1.5 million take a look.
I’m so glad Trump has opted to forgo these charades, complete with race hustlers looking for a gotcha! Moderators from Univision? Gezzz! 3,000,000 less viewers than the last one? Just brutal.
Trump slammed the hood down on their heads bigly.
Thank you President Trump for not being part that 3rd rate contrived sideshow.
This isn’t a Primary or a “debate” it’s a fustercluck and a giant ridiculous joke.
Trump, like it or not, was the nominee as of Jan 7, 2021, as long as he chose to run.
The uniparty/globalist/establishment shills trying to pretend this isn’t the case is simply an embarrassment and an insult to anyone who isn’t suffering from massive TDS.
All they are proving is exactly why TRUMP is going to be and should be the nominee... The idea that these folks are the “Best and Brightest” the GOP has to offer, shows exactly why the GOP is in the state its in.
“Still beat trumps speech by 10 million. He had around 1.5 million take a look.”
And Trump will get tens and tens of millions of more votes in primaries than all of these jokers combined... Trump will be the nominee with handily well over 60% of all the votes cast in the primary if not 70%...
This “debate” just showed exactly why Trump will and should be the overwhelming nominee... what a joke these folks are. These are the “best and brightest” the GOP has to offer? What an absolute joke.
