Rapone sought an engineering degree. Look what they did to him. It's terrible.
Is he a new instructor at West Point now?.
I am glad they have disassociated with General Robert E. Lee.
Otherwise, I’d have to go up there myself, fight my way in, and rescue his picture off the wall.
Just use the military-centric colleges as farm systems. The VMI’s, Texas A&M’s. A one year indoctrination could count as one year of service. Shit, after 4 years at VMI one could spend just the summer at the academy and get their commission in the fall.
For Miley to get into Princeton he had to be very smart. Grant was more successful and he had the bottle.
A 4 year engineering investment stint at an academy gets non-productive once a guy gets killed in battle.
The institution from which Dwight David Eisenhower and George S. Patton Graduated.
It’s a sad day,
The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in England has been grinding out British Army officers for about 230 years. Candidates don't need to have a college degree, though the majority of those accepted already do. The course at Sandhurst is 44 weeks long...that's it. When you successfully complete the course you are then commissioned.
To me this commissioning system is somewhat of a cross between OCS and ROTC, except your year at Sanhurst retains it's sense of being an elite military education tradition.
A more fundimental problem remains however, even while America continues to grind out an increasingly woke officer corps, the U.S. Army can't recruit enough new enlisted soldiers for all these officers to "lead."
Don’t disagree a damn bit with what you said. So sadly true.
Yet they are in high demand from government, NGOs, nonprofits, and even Big Business.
Corporations need "diversity experts" for their HR divisions, so as to avoid job discrimination lawsuits.
Some corporations even go so far as to appoint a Chief Diversity Officer (CDO). I've seen that title for a while now.
Law firms retain Diversity Consultants as expert witnesses in job discrimination lawsuits.
Universities hire Diversity Consultants both in the hiring of professors and selection of students.
The list is endless. It's a valuable degree. And in our increasingly diverse and anti-white society, it's a degree with much growth potential.
I work for a guy who is a graduate of west point, played football and everything.
He is the most duplicitous weasel I have ever met.
He truly is one of those guys that if you shake his hand you better count your fingers.
Anecdotal I know, but he doesn’t leave a good impression.
A lot of good men are going to have to die in years to come to cover up the abandonment of the military as the ultimate meritocracy. The uniforms have become costumes and the few true Americans who are deluded into enlisting will be cannon fodder for maintaining the DOD social agendas. In my wife’s and my families eight men volunteered and served over three generations, but never again.
Another thing. Most of our military recruits come from the south and midwest. A discrepancy. Northerners seem to think service should be done by someone else. Still a draft is not the answer. Every congressional district gets awarded an academy appointment I’ve heard.
It’s dumb not it’s a minor. Still have to get that engineering degree.
democRATS... delenda est
The old free USA I loved is gone for good.
Amen!
I thought WP taught future military leaders history, science, engineering, math and military strategy. When did they become a liberal arts college?
Apologetic from a diversity graduate, I assume.
“ A GOP majority can stop it.”
They could. But they wouldn’t. Ever.
The GOP is every bit as terminally corrupt as the Democrat Party. They’re just much, much lazier and weaker in the knees.
