Hunter Biden has sued Rudy Giuliani over his infamous laptop scandal, claiming that the former New York City mayor hacked and manipulated data on an external hard drive in a “total annihilation” of the troubled first son’s “digital privacy.”
The suit filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court of Central California accuses Giuliani and Robert Costello, a former federal prosecutor who defended Giuliani, of violating the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act when they accessed Biden’s hard drive, the document viewed by The Post indicated.
“For the past many months and even years, Defendants have dedicated an extraordinary amount of time and energy toward looking for, hacking into, tampering with, manipulating, copying, disseminating, and generally obsessing over data that they were given that was taken or stolen from Plaintiff’s devices or storage platforms, including what Defendants claim to have obtained from Plaintiff’s alleged “laptop” computer,” the filing read.

First question: who was the rightful owner of the laptop? Once HB failed to pick the lap top up, the owner of the repair shop became the rightful owner, did he not? I hope the judge throws the case out for: “Lack of Standing”. How ironic would that be.
My understanding is that the computer shop became the rightful owner when Hunter failed to pick it up and did not pay his bill after a certain amount of time....so discovery should be fun.
100%. In a normal situation, his lawyers would advise against this. But this is not a normal situation. As Carl Vehse accurately points out, a suitable judge will be found to allow this nonsense to proceed.
Simple effort to compromise the public perception of chain of custody.
Now, they’re hoping the entire contents of the computer will be inadmissible in court.

If some of the most expensive lawyers in the country believed your analysis, H Biden wouldn’t be suing. That type of lawsuit is what got Kraken and Rudy in trouble. Rudy now knows that fake lawsuit stuff pretty well. As good as any lawyer in the country.

The only reasonable explanation for this is to add the costs of an additional defense to Rudy’s financial problems. The charge is ludicrous.

Force Joe to resign. By manuvering Hunter to be so toxic that Joe has to decide to let Hunter go to jail. And possibly leading to implicating Joe and the WHOLE family.
OR, resign and Pardon Hunter for ALL past crimes. With the agreement that they don’t go after the rest of the Biden family.

As the other poster on this thread said accurately, this is a form of Lawfare, which in a normal, functioning justice system (I think the kind of justice system you may be referring to that no longer exists) would explode in in their faces like a trick cigar.
But that justice system no longer exists.
Judges can summarily dismiss, but they are cowards.
Rudy needs to counter sue. That’s one way to get that crook Biden in court.

My understanding is that this laptop was considered abandoned after it wasn’t picked up after a period of time specified in the agreement. So it isn’t his laptop to sue over.
