I like Olive Garden. Never had a bad meal there. The reason I stay away is I would gain three pounds every time I went there. They cook everything with lots of butter which is why it tastes so good, but is really fattening. Unlimited Tuscan zapata soups and salads, it’s just hard to portion control. And the deserts....Now I’m hungry....
Butter isn’t fattening.
Pasta, however, is....and, causes inflammation. As do the flour and potatoes in your Tuscan Zuppa. Not to mention the bread.
Sorry to break the news to you :-(

It’s not the butter. It’s the salt causing water retention.
I’ve eaten at the Olive Garden twice in my life, both times at the invitation of other people.
NEVER AGAIN, the food was CRAP and the prices they charge for their CRAP are outrageous!
We actually like Olive Garden, too, but we mostly cook. I make better eggplant parm, but my hubby loves the Tour of Italy and I like getting a single glass of wine with the lasagna. They discontinued an entree that was a seafood pasta, which I loved, a long time ago.
I like Olive Garden food and I still go there. Then again, I’m not a finicky senior citizen in their second childhood. 😂
Don't blame the butter for what the bread did.
