Amid the hold, Democratic senators had largely condemned the Coach's actions as compromising military readiness, a claim Tuberville rejected. In his floor remarks he opined that the considerable nominee backlog was the product of Democratic inaction rather than his efforts.
"If Democrats want to complain then they should look in the mirror. I don’t control the Senate floor—the Democrats do. In a typical week, we work three days," he said. "Those aren’t the kind of hours people are working back in my home state of Alabama. This is one of the least productive Senates in our lifetimes. Democrats can’t have it both ways. Either they can confirm these nominees through regular order, or they can stop complaining about acting officials."
"Democrats say this is a large backlog of nominees. They say it would take a long time. Well, I agree. It’s been a big backlog," he conceded. "But again, Chuck Schumer allowing the backlog to build up over six months is his fault. We could have been confirming one or two a week for the last 200 days. It would have taken us just four hours of voting each week. But we didn’t do it."
"We don’t have a lack of leadership in our military—we have a lack of leadership right here in the United States Senate. Despite the lack of leadership, Senators are perfectly capable of voting. Voting is our job. That’s why we were sent here," he asserted.
Coach further insisted that he would maintain his hold, forcing Schumer to continue bringing nominees to the floor for consideration should he wish to clear the backlog.

The media knew this all along, but they went right along with the Ruling Oligarchy narrative.
Absolutely speaking the truth. We have at least one man who fights. What he missed is that we just don’t need as many perfumed princes as we have.
I heard a local interview with Tuberville this am. Tuberville was asked how many times Schumer has spoken to him since he became a Senator. Tuberville said — none.
If this issue was so important to Schumer why didn’t he call Tuberville. Heck why wouldn’t the leader talk to each and every member once in a while and try to schmooze them or whatever it is that politicians do.
Tuberville said he was fine with it and didn’t care if Schumer ever called him. :-)
We need to cut the number of field grade officers in half. At the General and Admiral level you have them with commands of paperclips, bond paper, napkins, straws, etc.
Thats great and all, but I bet those folks will just carry water for the democrats.
This life long Bama fan is happy to have voted for the old Auburn coach!
Because why would a snooty, arrogant putz from NYC want to talk to what is to him a Southern redneck football coach who could break him if he sneered at him to his face?
Maybe both. Milley. Austin....
Ya know, it’s a shame that anyone has to make an effort just to have recorded votes. Oh, by the way, vote no on all nominations. It’s easier to fix something that’s broke when it’s not changing. The general staff of the U.S. military is huge and woke. Do you realize their are 47 four star generals and admirals? That for roughly 1.5 million service members. During the height of WWII we had over 11 million troops and only 7 four stars. Under our current 47 four stars there are hundreds of useless and woke generals and admirals. They are failures. None of lost their jobs after losing endless war after endless war.
Those are ridiculous numbers.
The Senate is an embarrassment to US Citizens.
Please! Our Auburn coach is not a REDneck. You mistake the color. It is BURNT ORANGE.
Go Ole’ Miss!
I guess Fetterman will just have to suck it up and show up during his “workout at the gym”...sarc
Ridiculous as in untrue or ridiculous as in how braindead America as become?
Most of our government embarrasses me. The Senate is a special case, though.
I’ll take braindead for a hundred, Alex.
Schumer thought he would roll the freshman senator. Coach read the rulebook and played the game well.

So did so-called conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt.
